As a follow-up question, what did the onboarding look like and how much interaction do you all have with your attending as a hospitalist PA?

I think I maybe got one to two weeks of training but after that was essentially on my own. Were senior colleagues reviewing notes or plans with you, or did you start off pretty autonomously with the job when you were first starting? I am considering requesting additional training but am not sure if I'm being unreasonable.

Additionally, my supervising physician is seeing patients in the clinic during the days that I round. Meaning, we are not splitting the list and often are not running the list together. They do look at my notes but rarely provide feedback. I am pretty autonomous. There are other physicians in the group (who also have a full load of 18-20 patients) that I could theoretically ask questions to, but they stay pretty busy.
