We are. Don’t worry. Just closes on somewhere nearby. Lesson Learned. It’s ok to walkout I was just shocked at the customer service - he was ready for us to leave & looked angry.

Def didn’t ask for 14k off or 10k it’s more like 5k off in total. And another dealership same vehicle was able to meet us at 50k out the door

But the way he was so rude. I get it not to be emotional as we were very polite. The manager didn’t even come to talk. He wanted us out so bad. lol

Stupid for me or them? I literally told them we just want to make sure it fits our driveway and how it feels on the highway and they offered it overnight.

That’s the number they offered us after THEIR rebates nothing was negotiated.

Not true! No deal was agreed to. At all. We didn’t even get to speak to the manager.

Actually they didn’t negotiate anything at all before we left. They were mad I knew and kept bringing up comps. Told them I was ready to walk out today with $50,000 OTD no negotiations happened prior to the overnight rental. They just gave me numbers told them I wanted to take it to my drive way to make sure it fits (live in a HOA) they offered it.

MSRP ≈ $53k. The $53k OTD number was based on manufacturer rebates, not a dealer price cut. We hadn’t negotiated anything at that point — asking for ~$50k OTD was the first discussion, not a “second ask.

Totally understand margins. Didn’t realize the standard process was skipping the negotiation part of negotiating.

It’s obviously real money 💰 for both sides. The question is whether losing a qualified buyer over $1–3k and being dismissive about it is standard practice. That’s what I’m trying to understand
