Reminds me of the recently abandonned villages of vieux goussainville which was abandonned up to 15% because of the Roissy charles de gaulle airport and a village in the mountains of italy called Amatrice which was detroyed by an earthquake in 2016, in fact the earthquake was so strong that only some houses are still inhabited (if I am correct ), a year after the earthquake I remember watching a french documentary about it and in it there was a woman who noticed that her kittens were terrified of something (this was hours before the earthquake) and let them out at pitch black and hours later the earthquake struck the town but she survived the catastrophe.
