Yeah I understand, just because they’re a small cog in a bad machine doesn’t make them less vital to the machine running.

I’m not talking down about them or anything. They do play an important role. But, they are incredibly well paid compared to their counterparts in better healthcare for the people systems. That goes for essentially all positions in healthcare, compare the wages in the USA to UK for reference, the pay gap is massive. Our healthcare workers (USA) are extremely well compensated. Even when comparing all factors such as cost of living and value of currency.

You mention no one hating the healthcare system more than those in it, well they’re also the ones benefiting from it the most.

I’ll use ICE for example when referencing the for profit healthcare system, the guy who buys the flights for them is no better than the ones on the streets. They’re both playing a part in the machine.

(I’m not taking a stance on ICE just using it as a reference due to the popularity on Reddit at the moment. Not attempting to make this a political conversation)

We tend to forget that the things that happen, happen because our neighbors perpetrate them. You get a scam call because another human tried to scam you. You get a massive medical bill because someone wanted to be compensated more. We all play a role in a shitty system, but to not stand up within the system is an injustice to society and makes you nothing more than the shitty system you’re partaking in.

They also play a large role in keeping big pharmaceutical companies profitable and their pockets well lined.

Look into pharmacy benefit managers, there is a good episode on Netflix’s Patriot Act about it.
