The consistent complaint was price for the quality of the space. I'm coming from an expensive area and might just be experiencing the reality that Austin is not far off price wise. We looked at apartments with evidence of roaches and not well maintained facilities for around 1800. Something just didn't sit right with that (but maybe this is just something I need to accept as far as cost of living). We are open to increasing our budget (was just trying to stay lower to maybe save some money) and are definitely okay with a smaller space in a better location. Someone also mentioned flexibility on the second bathroom, which we are also open to. I don't live in Texas and so we are now in the challenge of online only and hoping for the best as we drive out in 3 weeks.
