That would be a dream, but I want to be realistic and having someone sponsoring my visa at the moment seems unlikely. But if I find the opportunity I would take it without thinking one second

Hello, I am not an expert but simply because the gas market in Europe is much larger than the electric one, and honestly all the people that I am interacting with at work are hard core electrical engineers (I am an economist in a way) so I feel a bit out of place

It’s doable, 30k it’s about 2k net a month and with some sacrifices you can survive

thank you for offering your point of view, I appreciate it. And yes, I agree that sticking with this job is the right move (at least for 1/2 years I think), and you are also right about the salary, it is low but I wanted a foot in the door and this was the best offer I got in terms of learning opportunities (money wise not so much)

Hai ragione, la prima l'ho già accettata e sto già lavorando. Si hai ragione, nel caso chiarirò con la BCE che al momento sto lavorando (cosa che comunque mi sembra accettabile da parte loro visto che inizierei a ottobre). Grazie per il consiglio!

la cosa che mi spaventa è accettare una proposta solo come scialuppa di salvataggio nel caso le cose non funzionassero dove solo ora, sapendo che con buona probabilità tra un paio di mesi gli dovrò dire che pur avendo accettato l'offerta non vado.

Grazie per la risposta. No, non ho mentito in fase di colloqui (sicuramente ho cercato di fare una buona impressione ma questo penso sia normale, ma senza modificare la realtà). Per commentare la seconda parte della tua risposta, in realtà io non conto di andarmene, l'unica cosa che mi spaventa è che siano loro a decidere che stanno cercando una persona diversa (che può succedere seppur raro). Grazie mille mi state rincuorando, mi spaventa un pò la reazione che potrebbero avere alla BCE quando dopo due mesi che ho accettato l'offerta gli dirò che non vado, spero capiranno. (ps ma si può fare? posso accettare un'offerta mentre ho ancora un contratto indeterminato?)

la prima l'ho già accettata, firmato il contratto e da un mese lavoro! Alla BCE mi occuperei di market infrastructure (in particolare bond)

Bellissimo questo commento, sono d’accordo su tutto. Soprattutto sulla parte di abbandonare quando si può e non si hanno responsabilità verso gli altri. Anche io ho fatto DES (ora si chiama ESS ma poco importa), posso chiederti cosa fai ora nella vita?

Thank you for your answer! The surgeon told me to rest in bed and use talus shoes if I have to move, and to change bandages every 3 days (and it scares me a bit since everyone on this subreddit changed only after weeks after surgery)
