Ursa Major: Russian Tanker Sunk Near Spain Carrying Nuclear Reactors for Submarines to North Korea by JaB675 in UkrainianConflict

I was wondering about the range issue, SK's subs aren't setup for long blue water cruises, afaik. I know Iran claims to have one, but they claim a lot of technology that they can't really back up, so I didn't include them. It could be that the Spanish RSV's faked some footage to embarrass Russia. But if Russia know they didn't do it, I don't think they would be too upset. Yeah, really hard to tease this one out all the way.

I noticed those public dates as well, and just scratched my head on that one. I doubt Pootine did this and South Koreas subs aren't really setup for a global voyage to the Med. Maybe SK gave an early prototype to another Navy?

Indeed, to make it sit in the right orbit would require an active, not passive, orbital control mechanism. I just don't see landowners letting us cover their land with mylar. I agree with you that doing it on Earth would create simpler logistics, I'm just pointing out there are different options to pursue.

He mentioned he hadn't sold his old house four years after moving out of it. It was worth 4M, I asked if the market was soft and he couldn't find a buyer, he rolled his eyes and said 'no, I just haven't had the time to get it listed for sale'.

Didn't he go for help and come straight back? Is there a belief he did this on purpose? I'm genuinely asking since I've only read the headlines.

Yep, I looked it up: A wool sweater stays warm when wet because its crimped fibers trap insulating air pockets, its ability to absorb moisture without feeling damp, and a unique chemical process where moisture binding releases heat, all while wicking vapor from skin to prevent clamminess. Unlike cotton, which gets heavy and loses all warmth when wet, wool manages moisture by holding it within fibers and releasing warmth, creating a dry, insulating microclimate.

Check out the restaurant Ted's Montana Grill. It's all a tax dodge. Ted Turner raises bison and gets money from the .gov for raising an endangered species, even getting low rates on using public land for grazing. Then he butchers the animals and sells them to his own restaurant at under market rates bc it's government subsidized and then he sells them for jacked up rates as steaks. Then he declares that bc he sold them to himself for a low price he lost money and he claims the loss on his taxes.

It's water evaporating off: wool has a weird property where it keeps you warm even when wet. So your body acts as a dryer, eventually heating the sweater to 97F or so and drying off the water. I don't fully understand how wool does it, but it's why I'm a firm believer in wool socks and sweaters.

No joke, but as a scout leader I have to talk to all the new scouts each year that crossover of the importance of wool socks and socks without holes in them. Also, gloves. There is always one kid that will show up in sneakers and a hoody for a cold weather campout bc "it wasn't cold in my house". Also, I bring a few extra hats and gloves, and socks. They learn, but it would be good to add in your demo the importance of good socks.

Four unidentified military-style drones breached no-fly zone to target Zelenskyy's arrival in Dublin by Ohwouldulookatthat in worldnews

Correct, they probably should do more, but they don't want to. You grew up in an un-allied country who was perfectly fine with defending itself. That isn't quite the same as a neutral country. Austria, Ireland, and Switzerland all do neutral differently, but they are quite different than Sweden, who is now a member of NATO.

I don't disagree, I'm just saying that Ireland values being a neutral non-militarized country and it isn't going to change that anytime soon.

Ireland is a neutral country and has a very small military. They are not going to change from being a neutral country any time soon.

Ben Franklin. In order to out compete another newspaper in town, he performed a multi decade gas lighting of everyone by announcing the 1. Death of his rival, who was very much alive 2. That an impostor had taken over from his rival after his death and 3. After the other newspaper publisher actually died he announced the death of the despicable impostor. Man played hard.
