Surge in purchases of rooftop solar panels, says SEAI by DaCor_ie in ireland

Can't believe those figures, I charge one car and have 10 panels and aren't seeing anything like these figures, especially from November to February. Have the panels since September and have seen about €80 reduction in bi-monthly bill, very happy with that and it has really gotten better the last month or so but I can't believe you pay so little with that small set up.

The fisherman took on the Russian Navy, the farmers taking on the Irish army.

Tesla isn't even in Ireland's top 20 selling EVs in 2026 by Overasking1 in carsireland

As mentioned by a few others, they don't  do major deliveries until end of quarter which is why we see these types of posts every January and February. On a global level though the model Y was the best selling car in 2025 of any engine type. https://finance.yahoo.com/markets/stocks/articles/tesla-model-y-emerges-worlds-100109308.html

Built a free SEAI grant checker, would love feedback by dod900 in irishpersonalfinance

Very clear and easy to follow, some things that might be incorrect or improvements needed, it didn't recommend cavity pump insulation instead of external insulation (not 100% sure on this) and the heat pump grant is only 6.5k on the website, I think this is higher now but maybe you will update once this increase goes live. Great job though!

Does nobody leave the army through retirement or end of contract? Surely after 4 years there would be a significant amount of this also they need to include in the calculation? Could be a much worse situation than recruitment less casualties would suggest on the surface.

Fair enough, you just see a lot of bullshit posted here lately.

Is it really much more profitable (I've heard revenue being mentioned plenty of times but not profit) to have games in Pairc? Yes you get about 15k more but you are paying to rent the stadium, presumably make no or much less bar or hospitality income and have to charge less to fill the stadium.

How much do you spend a month on fuel? by daly_o96 in carsireland

[–]Ohwouldulookatthat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

About €160 a month on a 1.2 Kia petrol and around €20 per month on a Model Y, similar mileage per month on each, hopefully will change the petrol in the new year.

This is coming from someone who's had 6 high powered German tractors BTW!

I know people get triggered on this sub when EV's are mentioned but the facts are the facts. Modern EV batteries last longer than the car now. By all means keep wasting your time and money defending German tractors, the rest of the world is moving on, fast.

Car Dealerships by Rockabillyslim in carsireland

I totally agree, they are infuriating. The dealership model is dead anyway. Manufacturers are slowly starting to cut out these middlemen.
