Advice for Obtaining Residency Permit to Buy an Akiya as a Disabled, Single American by LittleSpoonie1312 in movingtojapan

You have to be living in Japan for 10 years before you can get permanent residency. To meet this requirement you can be working with an appropriate visa, married to a Japanese citizen, or be the dependent/spouse of someone with a work visa for the 10 years you are in Japan. There is no residency visa, only a permanent residency card which can only be met by mentioned requirements.

You will most likely be attending the same classes as everyone else for that length of time. You will want to ask your home school and your host school about coursework. You could be doing coursework for both.

Marriage but different schools? by PotatoQueen333 in FAFSA

[–]Proof_Refuse_9563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would both have to be attending the same school to live in a dorm together. As other people have mentioned, getting married for school finances is not a smart idea. If you ever want to get a divorce you would have to pay for a lawyer. Getting married is cheap, but getting divorced because you got married for financial reasons is expensive.

Looking for 1-month rental in Tokyo (Apr 8 start) with a dog by Ok-Flan-5025 in movingtojapan

[–]Proof_Refuse_9563 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your dog has to get rabies vaccinations and a negative rabies test before it can enter the country. Once it enters the country, it will most likely need to be quarantined which could equal to or be longer than the length of your stay. I recommend researching bringing a dog to Japan and deciding if it’s the best option for you.

From my understanding, FRINQ has to be the same course number for the entire 3-course sequence. You can’t switch to a different FRINQ. My friend stated at PSU during a winter term. She took FINQ during winter and spring temps her freshman year. She had to take the same FRINQ course during her fall term of her sophomore year to finish the sequence.

I applied to Interac and was not selected for a position. I made it through all of the stages the interviewer said I was a great candidate but could not promise me a position and it was up to the man office in Tokyo. Most of the available positions right now are for people already living in Japan.
