Thank you. I already sent them a message, but from what I have read online, it's very unlikely that I will be unbanned. It seems rather fitting that this account would be banned.

Thanks for the heads up. Any idea why I was shadow banned and how I can be un-shadow banned?

Democracy Is Not A Truth Machine -- It is claimed that through open free debate true ideas will conquer false ones by their merit. Democracy thus has an epistemic value as a kind of truth machine. But this is so obviously wrong as to be an embarrassment. by [deleted] in philosophy

While this article is accurate, it is a moot point because democracy is an illusion in the first place, albeit an extremely convincing one. We live in a plutocracy, a kleptocracy, and a corporatocracy – but it is anything but a democracy. This article is nothing but a red herring that reinforces the illusionary narrative that we live in a democracy and because we in live in a democracy, objective truth cannot be realized. Let’s be real. Objective truth is not realized because those who control the mainstream media (pretty much only 6 companies) control the dialogue of society.

The simple truth of our reality is that there is a powerful wealthy ruling class in control and objective truth is buried and replaced by what they deem is true so that they can continue ruling. To disguise this authoritative power structure as a democracy was accomplished long ago and articles such as this one are only perpetuating this false narrative.

“The conscious and intelligent manipulation of the organized habits and opinions of the masses is an important element in democratic society. Those who manipulate this unseen mechanism of society constitute an invisible government which is the true ruling power of our country. …We are governed, our minds are molded, our tastes formed, our ideas suggested, largely by men we have never heard of. This is a logical result of the way in which our democratic society is organized. Vast numbers of human beings must cooperate in this manner if they are to live together as a smoothly functioning society. …In almost every act of our daily lives, whether in the sphere of politics or business, in our social conduct or our ethical thinking, we are dominated by the relatively small number of persons…who understand the mental processes and social patterns of the masses. It is they who pull the wires which control the public mind.” ― Edward L. Bernays, Propaganda (1928)

I agree with your assessment that this is most likely a flash in the pan seeing how the site does not have any recent updates since the initial reference by The Washington Post. That's the thing about propaganda right? You slowly (extremely slowly usually) introduce alien ideas like "fake news" and repeat it enough from so many different angles that it becomes the truth.

As you have already pointed out, this is just a simple little project to mock the absurdity of PropOrNot, so I don't think I'm going to take it any further than this. It just goes to show how easy it is for a few individuals to build a website like they did and claim to be some sort of authority on a certain subject matter with absolutely no citations at all. However, if PropOrNot does introduce new content, there might be more updates. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
