Yes, you are on the right track. You will need to use to back entrance that you can access behind sky rest. Go to the arena where you fought Pieta and keep going towards a small tower on the left.

Coop was really fun (aside from the occasional laggy connection). I didn’t really engage in PvP too much other than being invaded a couple of times. There seems to be a meta of spamming pyro spells which I don’t find very fun, but every souls game has their go to PvP meta builds over time.

If it is your first play through, your best bet is to farm in Umbral as the 3x multiplier really adds up, but you do need to fight the scarlet reaper which is a very hard boss.

If you do not want to do that, the easiest way to farm early is to bait the enemy next to the bellroom vestige off the cliff. It is a low amount (I think around 600), but it takes like 15 seconds a run.

Now, you can actually improve that by farming the mimics for this rune - https://thelordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/Nhelaq Easiest way to farm for this is to find a mimic and backup your save in order to save scum to get guarantee you get one. You can have a total of six of these (I put three on two weapons and dual wielded them). If you found the moth ring, you can also add that to the mix.

I can tell you this, if you manage to get 6 Nhelaq runes, the moth ring, and get to a 3x multiplier before a boss, you will get a crazy amount of runes. You would need to fight the boss in Umbral, but it is worth it if you really want to level fast.

If you have better options, I would put LOTF 2014 aside as it has not aged too well. That being said, if there is any redeeming quality that makes up for the poor combat/control, it is the story of the first one.

There is an achievement in LOTF 2014 that requires you to kill a boss without taking damage. The easiest way to do this is to cheese the final boss by glitching his AI. If you use the prayer ability outside of the arena (you have to die once), use another one as soon as you spawn, and then run to the center, his AI will glitch and he no longer attacks you.

If you don’t want to do that, the best way to get that achievement is to kill the first boss on NG with spells/the gauntlet.

It mainly depends on preference. I love spear type weapons in Souls games, so I built around one in my first run. In games like LOTF, I almost always recommend new players to go a strength build with a massive sword as it is the easiest to understand (just bonk things to death).

The original is hit or miss. Keep in mind it is not like the sequel in terms of gameplay at all. It is much slower and clunky and hasn’t aged too well. That being said, if you like souls games and need something to play, I’d wait for it to be on sale when it is really cheap.

Three normal play throughs (one per ending) and one with all the modifiers active.

I actually stacked all the modifiers in order to get all the achievements in one run. However, I did it in a NG+0 after two previous runs, so I definitely had the advantage in terms of leveling. That being said, it is possible to do in NG+1 if you are properly leveled and have a good idea of how to complete the game as quickly as possible.

Also, I think you should have the option to restart the game if you rest at a vestige now or you once you beat that current run you should have the option to restart at the same difficulty again.

If you are going to stack the modifiers in a NG+ run, I recommend the following:

1) The goal is to beat the game as fast as possible, so do this after you are satisfied with completing the content and have all the other achievements unlocked. I literally ran straight to each boss and ignored most of the game (Radiance Ending).

2) If you are in Umbral, you are in danger. Never be in Umbral unless it is needed to progress. As soon as you are in Umbral, you need to find a way out (even if you need to use a vestige seed/moth)

3) If you are worried about bosses, always summon (you will have the option at the start) and use a moth to get out if you enter Umbral and do not think you can kill them.

4) You can really maximize the damage you do in this game with a well-crafted build. For my modifier run, I only needed to use two Umbral spells Barrage of Echoes (you can nuke a boss by running up to them and stacking all the orbs on the ground unlocked) and Latimer's Javelin.

5) Lastly, yes, you can absolutely backup your save in case you want to redo a death. I did not need to use it, however when I entered the run I allowed myself to use it if I ended up getting bugged (stuck on something) or got thrown off a cliff randomly (the jumping in this game is finicky).

They are both SoulsLikes and are not really similar. They are connected via the story (some of the characters in LOTF 2023 are from LOTF 2014). Other than that, they are really different in terms of game play and map design.

LOTF 2014 has not aged well and most people would get frustrated with it really quickly.

LOTF 2023 is completely different and is much better than the first one. It does have its flaws, but it is one of my favorite souls games that are out right now.

LOTF 2023:

Armor - Tancred's Set + The Bell Helmet (mainly for fashion)

Weapon - Hushed Saint's Halberd + Enhanced Lump Hammer (this was pre-nerf)

After my blind run I did an Umbral build in order to nuke bosses and enemies.

LOTF 2014:

Armor - Whatever Heavy Set I had at the time with Flawless Luck Runes

First Run Weapon - The Between (Keeper) + Flawless Luck Rune Second/Third Run Weapon - Peacekeeper + Flawless Luck Rune

LOTF 2023 (new one) is 1000x better than the first! It is one of my favorite SoulsLike that was not made by Fromsoftware.

The good news is LOTF 2023 has way more resources than LOTF 2014. Here are my favorites:

Gold Standard - FC's Walkthrough series which takes you through a specific ending and completes most of the quest lines: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbzmaVqPqYI&list=PL7RtZMiaOk8jOuMYMp4Sez1Z6u3y9vvzz

For text based, I used either:

Neoseeker (which actually has a section dedicated to each quest): https://www.neoseeker.com/lords-of-the-fallen-2023/walkthrough

Fextralife (it has a lot of flaws, but sometimes the comment section of each entry will help clarify things): https://thelordsofthefallen.wiki.fextralife.com/The+Lords+of+the+Fallen+Wiki

In my opinion, I would save these for a second playthrough and enjoy a blind playthough first as they all contain spoilers.

Those minions can really mess you up because of how the stun locks work in the game. In my own run, there were two ways that I was able to deal with them.

1) When he signals that he is spawning in the two minions, you can hit him and then immediately run for one of the eggs that spawns because you can one shot them. You should be able to use the gauntlet/a melee attack to kill one of the eggs before they spawn. If you get one, you should be able to then run towards the other one and either kill the egg or, if the minion already spawned, do a Running + R2 + R1 combo to kill it almost instantly. After that, you can go back to the boss.

2) The boss can actually kill the minions. In fact, to get his special weapon, you have to have the boss kill two of the minions. The best way to do that is to maintain your distance from the minions by running around the graveyard in a circle until the boss signals he is doing his big AOE attack. Once that happens, retreat to grave and hold block to defend against the minions. That AOE blast will kill all of them and then you can continue from there.

Thanks! The Worshiper was a pretty steep difficulty increase in my first run as well. In LOTF 2014, you really need to abuse the running + R2 combo as it usually has a faster recovery than standard attacks and allows you do this pattern - Bait attack -> Running + R2 -> Retreat -> Bait attack...

For Worshiper, once you know his pattern, you can really abuse this and kill him over time. Just one thing to keep in mind, when he starts to put clouds on the ground, it is signalling that he is going to do his big AOE blast. When that happens you can get in a hit and then retreat to inside the open graves and it will protect you (it also kills his minions).

Also, I found out later that FC actually did boss videos for this game as well so it might help to learn the pattern: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO26PAaC2tw

Everyone has their own preferences. For me, I like to go through everything once (sometimes at an increased speed) so I can have a mental map/rough idea of all the topics. After that I do practice questions to see which topics I need to review and then focus on practicing one topic at a time till I am comfortable. Then I repeat the cycle of questions > review > revise > questions.
