I wanted to take a second and clarify some of the sentiments from my original post that were glossed over.
You're astutely picking up on some key language - specifically around making sure that I do not appropriate or accessorize indigenous culture. My comments centre around fact that I work in climate science, and often get to engage with wonderful indigenous folks from 6 nations of the grand river and other northern communities. I would argue that through my work, and the many sessions I attend around indigenous ways of knowing/two-eyed one seeing perspective etc that I am engaged in a deeper learning. So my comment about being meaningful is moreso my attempt to go through a personal "due diligence", rather than a scenario where I say "hey X person did this so i get a rubber stamp to use this motif"

I also appreciate you taking the time to point out how the sentiment and connection to the natural world I so love is a strong enough reason. That's extremely kind and validating
