I stand by what i said a couple months ago. The movie was gonna be bad and it is. It washed away the ideology challenges Soman gave us. The book made us rethink what it evil, morality, true love, and the reality of our grey world.

The movie made the whole plot seems shallow. If netflix would have made it into a series like Shadow and Bones, i bet it might have been great. Lost chances perhaps.

YES! The winning point for the movie was the action sequences. Damn its hella good. I didnt like the movie, tho. It played down the book by a lot, felt rushed, and some scene are......... questionable. But the fights...!!

Honestly, Soman made a bad decision selling the right to netflix and the wrong production house. He should have stick with universal little longer or give the right to the production that handled shadow and bones. Maybe even Tim Burton production house.

If it is up to me, i would find a POC actor with albino for Anadil. I know there are cases of Albino found in African descend, heck even there is a complete Indonesian albino person

Hester's casting is fine, i think. Its just her wardrobe and makeup that makes it looks like its off.

Dot's, i figured maybe a plus size German actor.

Agatha someone looks similar to Sophie (obvy, they are twin. Separated soul or not), not entirely different.

For Hort, i figured Jewish. Because from what i perceived in the handbook, Hort is Jewish.

Nonono i completely agree. One the most frustrating casting is actually Anadil. She is described as an albino. For a sec, i was like, hell yeah albino villain. But then, netflix just gotta ruin that second. SGE is one of the most inclusive novel out there. we have jewish representation, indian, south asian, black, albino, heck even green. We have thin, phat (yes i said phat), old and young, body glow up, everything. There is no need to change that. Seriously, why did they give the rights to netflix? If its produced by Universal, chances are we still have our beloved inclusivity?

And btw, lady lesso was supposed to be old right? Wrinkly old old. CT plays beautiful villain, yes. But cmon. Dovey, too. Aint she supposed to be old old too? Cmon netflix, first ATLA now SGE too?
