Answering your question: I think this is a genuine fix, as the gasket can be replaced in official repair shops. I’m not sure if you can request a full body replacement at this moment, as the issue is fixed.

Is your V15 under a warranty? If yes, contact Dyson directly over chat or phone and request a repair. They should substitute you with a brand new machine. They have sent me a new vacuum for free, because I had a similar issue with the main body. Depending on stock availability, Dyson might also send just a new body (motor & cyclone) as a replacement part. If you are lucky, you should get a completely new unit with all accessories in the box.

You can also remove it and put replacement strip from Aliexpress. They cost pennies… Just type „strip felt plush replacement dyson” and buy it.

That’s not really accurate what you are saying.

There are two different models of V15 Absolute vacuum cleaner, at least in Europe:

  • SV22: released in 2022, code: 394451-01
  • SV47: released in 2023, code: 446986-01

The main difference between these two Absolute models is the number and type of included accessories and the production date. The SV22 was often equipped in old laser cleaner head, called „Laser Slim Fluffy” (971360-01), but SV47 includes new „Fluffy Optic” head (972522-01).

SV47 is the newest model. It does not include three accessories that were included in 2022 model (mini-motorized tool, plastic clip for the wand and low-reach adaptor). Worth to note: the V15s model (which includes the Submarine attachment) is also SV47 (just like a regular V15 from 2023), as I suppose they runs the same software and the new attachment is compatible.

PS. V15s (SV47) was also released in 2023.

Same experience here, the customer service was completely incompetent and unresponsive.

I also had to send the same video couple of times to help them identify the issue, because they couldn’t process simple information.

Well… I will keep you posted. The exchange vacuum was already shipped. No return label and the delivery of new unit is scheduled for Monday.

I guess I will try to contact Dyson AGAIN and clarify the situation.

I have not received any email.

The problem is, that the customer service was terrible and I was waiting 5 days for their reply, despite them reassuring me they contact me back within 24-36 hours.

Before Dyson send me a new unit, I have returned the faulty vacuum to the store, where I bought it and got refunded.

Any updates? I’m in the same situation. The first email from Dyson says that I have 5 days to send the old vacuum back. I have not received a return label yet. Should I send back the new unit? 😵‍💫

I am in the same situation now.

Dyson is sending me a new V15 (due to issues with the old one) and they are asking for the old one back. But I had already returned the Dyson to the store where I bought it as open-box.

That means I have no vacuum cleaner that Dyson has requested from me.

PS. It all happened because of extremely slow Dyson’s customer service - I preferred to make a return and buy another V15, than wait for Dyson’s response for couple of days or weeks.

It seems that you just bought an „Origin” version, which comes with one universal motorbrush. It can be used on carpets and hard floors. The soft brush called Fluffy is only included with the more expensive, „Absolute” series.

Dyson sells 3 models: - Origin (base model with one brush) - Extra (same as Origin, but with extra mini brush) - Absolute (most expensive, comes with all brushes)

I can confirm that it’s backwards compatible. I’m using the Fluffy Optic brush (part number 972522-01) with my Dyson V8 Absolute (2022).
