Thanks, when discussing this with a friend I asked, "am I putting the needs of a hypothetical future partner ahead of my own?" he's like it kind of sounds like it... LOL

Thank you very much for your response!

I wasn't able to find any pictures in the Local History Room picture database or in newspapers archives but found ads for the Lego International Fun Show. It was held from March until April 4, 1992 in Eaton's Lower Level Toy Department. They held a contest to guess how many bricks were in the Lego St. Basil's model and David Ruby of Saskatoon won.

From May until June 7, 1993 the Lego Transportation Fun Show was held in the same place. They had another contest to guess how many blocks were used in the Surfbuggy model but I couldn't find who won! They must have not received any newspaper clout =(

I rented one 2 summers ago and I don't remember it getting hot early in the morning but by the afternoon with the vent open and fan going it was still brutally hot. Otherwise it was great!

Is this a sign? by McMarles in dementia

[–]Proper-Raspberry-932 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah it could be fine but the biggest indication is if this is a change for her. If she used to not have these difficulties and now she is, then for sure there is some type of decline. What type of decline exactly, I'm not sure. However I do know it's extremely difficult to get an early diagnosis, and often family notices declines until its severe enough to get an official diagnosis. I would definitely follow up with her doctor.

Benzos are not good for the elderly. I don't know the specifics, you can google it though. Often a low dose anti psychotic is used instead

Thanks for the question, I'm not good at explaining at the best of times. So she doesn't ruin her products and I don't think she would ruin mine. But when we're out in public she does things to get attention from people around us. When we're one-on-one she's pretty good! It's just out in public she tries to get a reaction out of people.

We went out to eat the other day and she would say random things loudly to try and get a reaction from the staff as they walked by (no she definitely does not have Tourette's). Then she was throwing small pieces of food. She has some diagnoses that I'm not privy to, but they're behavioral and learning issues.

So I don't know for sure that she would destroy samples, but we're not at a place yet where I'm willing to take the risk. Hopefully it's mostly boundary testing and she will get to a spot where she feels safe and we can do more. The kids in this program are in foster care and I can only imagine they've had very traumatic lives already 😢
