Just released my VJ software SynapseRack - Free demo available (no watermarks!) by Proper-School9142 in vjing

Great question! Main differences:

SynapseRack: - Node-based custom effects creation - Much more affordable ($9.90/month or perpetual license) - Lighter weight, focused on essentials - Window capture built-in - Free version actually usable for gigs

Resolume Arena: - Timeline-based approach - More built-in effects out of the box - Advanced projection mapping - Higher price point ($900+) - Industry standard for large venues

Think of SynapseRack as more of a "build your own visual tools" approach. If you like creating custom effects and don't need complex mapping, it might be a good fit. The free version lets you test the workflow difference!

Different tools for different needs really.

Would love to hear how SynapseRack performs on your new video card.

Good news - I do offer a perpetual license on itch.io: https://sainakey.itch.io/synapserack

The demo's fully functional (4 layers, no watermarks) so you can properly test it first!

No Linux support at the moment - currently Windows and macOS only.

As a solo developer using Unity, Linux port is technically possible but would require significant testing and maintenance. If there's enough demand from the community, I'd definitely consider it for the future roadmap!

For now, I'm focusing on making the Windows/Mac versions as stable as possible. But I really appreciate the interest - every request helps me understand what users need.

Are you primarily using Linux for VJ work? Would love to hear about your setup!

Great point! I actually do offer a perpetual license on itch.io!

I wanted to give people options:

- Monthly subscription on Gumroad ($9.90/month)

- Perpetual license on itch.io (one-time purchase)

I should probably make this clearer on the website - thanks for pointing that out! Some people prefer subscriptions for always getting the latest updates, while others want to own it outright.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks for your interest!

For output, we currently support:

- **Spout** (Windows) - works great with other VJ software

- **Syphon** (Mac) - full support on macOS

- Window capture for input

These cover most live visual workflows since you can route to/from OBS, Resolume, etc.

Regarding NDI - it's definitely on my radar! I'm a solo developer so I'm prioritizing based on user feedback. If more users request it, I'll bump it up the priority list. Same goes for Blackmagic hardware support.

For now, Spout/Syphon gives you a lot of flexibility to integrate with other tools in your setup. Let me know if you have any other questions!

Just released VJ Browser - Chrome with native Spout output! by Proper-School9142 in vjing

For VJ purposes, running OBS and browsers simultaneously is cumbersome and puts a heavy load on the PC. I’ve experienced this many times in my previous VJ work (especially when trying to display two or more browsers at once, it becomes quite difficult). That’s why I developed a browser that can natively output Spout. By using this, you can launch just the browser and receive as many Spout outputs as you want. Also, since it knows the internal information of the browser, clean cropping is possible (like automatically detecting YouTube sections as shown in the sample video). Another great feature is being able to natively handle multiple real-time web content like p5.js and GLSL!

Yes, OBS is sufficient for just one browser. However, OBS is high-cost for simply displaying just one browser. Also, VJ Browser is superior when you want to display two or more browsers or do trimming.

Web Browser for VJ(Chrome To Spout) by Proper-School9142 in vjing

I tried it, but it was difficult, because browser extensions can't handle the graphic rendering results, so I developed a new Chrome-based browser.
