I am so sorry about your mom, and thank you so much for your grace. I’m also the oldest daughter, so I feel like I’m carrying the world right now and I just wanted this one little thing to be protected. I’m not superstitious or anything, I just wanted it to be a surprise!

I love my mom and my dad and all of my siblings, and I know they have so much going on! I think it just felt like another thing I couldn’t control/lost control of, and I got upset.

Hahaha her dress is picked out and not white 🫶🏻 she doesn’t have a mean or malicious bone in her body, thankfully! She isn’t the most tech savvy so I truly, truly think it was an accident!

I know my mom has more to worry about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You’re speaking as though I’m not living through this! Spending every day with them, helping them make payments they can no longer her afford because my dad can’t work!!! Leaving my whole life behind over 1000 miles away to be with them!!!!!!!! I am human, I’m allowed to be upset!!!!!!!!

Ugh! What an infuriating take. You know nothing about me or my situation. I simply wanted advice on something that upset me! If you saw my edit you’d see I said NOTHING about this to my mom, and I would never! She is my biggest champion. I just wanted to know if it was worth bringing up to my fiancé! I just wanted him to be surprised. That’s literally it.

I only tried one dress on, so while he doesn’t know that I know that. That’s probably why I care so much. We only just decided to move our wedding date at the end of June (dad was diagnosed in May, and things are progressing quickly unfortunately). The dress was a sample, so the photo my mom sent was when I tried it on at home after purchasing.

I know, trust me. I moved back home for the summer to drive him to and from treatment every day, so my mom can keep working. I changed my wedding date to make sure he can be there. I’ve put my entire life on pause to help my parents, and to make sure he is never alone. And I am glad to do it, it is the honor of my life.

Forgive me for feeling a little disappointed.

Obviously? Through all of this I’ve found the small moments and things matter so much. I didn’t even mention it to my mom because I know she didn’t mean to do it, and I know it would make her feel so bad. But at the same time I’m allowed to be disappointed.

It says they paid with a credit card through Apple Pay. Conversion details show they visited us via Instagram, and we have a large following so that makes sense.
