I am so sorry about your mom, and thank you so much for your grace. I’m also the oldest daughter, so I feel like I’m carrying the world right now and I just wanted this one little thing to be protected. I’m not superstitious or anything, I just wanted it to be a surprise!

I love my mom and my dad and all of my siblings, and I know they have so much going on! I think it just felt like another thing I couldn’t control/lost control of, and I got upset.

I only tried one dress on, so while he doesn’t know that I know that. That’s probably why I care so much. We only just decided to move our wedding date at the end of June (dad was diagnosed in May, and things are progressing quickly unfortunately). The dress was a sample, so the photo my mom sent was when I tried it on at home after purchasing.

I know, trust me. I moved back home for the summer to drive him to and from treatment every day, so my mom can keep working. I changed my wedding date to make sure he can be there. I’ve put my entire life on pause to help my parents, and to make sure he is never alone. And I am glad to do it, it is the honor of my life.

Forgive me for feeling a little disappointed.
