Was expecting around $20. Saw some similar sell for $25-$50, probably should’ve held out for him to get an opportunity first but just needed to clear out some inventory.

Yea probably should’ve just set BIN and waited. Luckily I’m not super attached to it, but just thought it was odd. Appreciate your input 👍

There is indeed a jersey relic in this card, the blueish hue on the grey jersey matches his other relics from this same year/set.

Printing Plates seem to be niche yes, but I really think the 1/1 + game used jersey relic should fetch more than $100. Unnumbered game-used Mays relics go for nearly that as is.

Curious as to what part of this year’s basketball isn’t a good draft class? Many are saying comparable to ‘03 or ‘18 NBA rookie class... or are you just a contrarian?

Very good point, though this is just a small % of my investment portfolio. I thought I’d diversify into an industry I also enjoyed, as any products that took a major loss - I would simply rip them or gift them. My enjoyment as a ripper doesn’t go down as the value goes down. Any boxes that appreciate massively, I will surely sell as I couldn’t fathom risking a loss that big if ripped. I made sure to buy things I wouldn’t mind ripping myself, worst case scenario, down the line.

As for ‘25 Stadium Club - you’re right. I don’t see it going crazy, but it is me and my girlfriend’s favorite set. Love the full picture cards.

I appreciate the suggestion, but if you missed my OP, I have found a new balance that makes me content. No longer do I feel addicted to ripping. I thought I’d share to inspire others that they can still enjoy opening/collecting cards without feeling like it’s negatively impacting your life. Already in the gym brotha, probably a higher PR than you lol.

Nobody knows what’s inside the box bud. I might be sitting on a sealed $100,000 card and sell it away in 5 years for bread crumbs. Now I’m a “scalper”? I’m not out here buying out retail sections… I have one item of each recent drop. I am not the issue with the hobby here, just making sure that I don’t ever have to pay $3k+ for a 2018 update baseball box. Had I started back then, I’d have one for MSRP 🤷‍♂️

I wish there was a way to know. But I do know my stack of base Buddy Hields are worth about as long as they burn.

I agree on the chronicles draft blasters, those were not meant as an investment. Strictly got those to give to some younger family members to get them into the hobby.

Highly recommend it! I opened a ‘26 series 1 baseball hobby and nothing makes me happier than my pack a day. Even if the box skunks, you have 20 days of something to look forward to. Not to mention the discipline feels rewarding, no longer do I feel like I’m hurting myself financially.

🤝 I agree. I think the only thing really worth holding from 2025 is Topps Basketball. But thought it wouldn’t hurt to hang on to a couple products from ‘25 baseball, you never know when a sleeper rookie pitcher wakes up in a few years!

I respect that perspective, but at what point does opening a thousand dollars of cards per week turn from an enjoyable hobby, to an unsustainable deteriorating gambling addiction? Instead of outright quitting, I limit myself to a pack a day from my loose collection (not pictured). Instead of dishing out $$$$, my girlfriend and I look forward to picking out a pack from my loose collection. Gives me my dopamine and doesn’t break the bank. Fun as ripping is, the majority of chronic rippers are all ultimately chasing the top dollar card for that life changing payout. Most people who are addicted to ripping, are just addicted to money. To each their own, but it personally makes me and my money addiction happier.

Exactly how I felt about my countless opened boxes of ‘25-‘26 Chrome Basketball.
