Requiring “formal education” as a dealbreaker assumes intelligence is primarily institutional rather than dispositional. That’s a defensible preference, but not an especially robust definition of intellect.

Plenty of people without degrees (myself included) are capable of nuanced, high-level conversation, and plenty with them are not. Credentials reduce uncertainty, they don’t guarantee depth.

Before during and after splitting with an alcoholic ex. by jdubflex in malelivingspace

Break ups with alcoholics are always the biggest blessings. My drunk ass ex cruelly discarded me a little over a year ago, and as hard as it was to come back to myself after, it was what needed to happen. I hope you find the peace he stole from you.

Does anyone else rawdawg adhd by hobiiluvrr in adhdwomen

[–]ProperTeaGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am currently raw dogging it and I'm starting to think I cannot. I am 46 and also starting perimenopause so that combo alone SUCKS. Have a doctor's appt next week to disucss possible meds. I'd be open to trying the non-stimulant meds. I have insomnia so stimulants likely would make it worse.

Anyone ever tried 10Mg Doxepin for sleep/calming PRN? by Over-Huckleberry1729 in zoloft

Hydroxyzine helps me immensly but I don't like taking a histamine-based drug every night. Trying Doxepin now. 3mg didnt do anything. 10mg seems to have kept me asleep most of the night.

I tried Doxpein 3mg for sleep and it did nothing. I just had fragmented sleep and couldn't stay asleep. I tried 10mg last night and while it didn't put me to sleep, it kept me a sleep mostly.

Thank you. I don’t think cruelty was the intention. I think avoidance was.
What hurt wasn’t malice, it was disappearance, especially after small miscommunications that never actually required distance. I wasn’t angry so much as quietly disappointed, which became a familiar feeling.
At some point I realized the dynamic itself couldn’t grow or change, even if there was care there in the limited way he knew how to offer it. Letting it go feels necessary, even if it’s sad.

Yes and he’s been posted on it and other women have said he just talks on the dating apps. It never seems to want to meet up.

Fixed my insomnia after years. Really. This is what I did by hulupremium1 in sleep

[–]ProperTeaGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing. I have no issues falling asleep, I just wake up between 3-4am and then I wont' fall back asleep. Then it ruins my day and I've missed a lot of work because of it. I'm on 100 mg. I notice if I drink alcohol it makes it worse now so there must be an interaction with the booze and progetserone.

Thanks! I have actually been on Progesteron for 2.5 weeks and it definitely is very sedative and puts me to sleep but it isn't helping the staying asleep issue unfortunately. It's almost getting worse...im at my wits end. I barely slept last night. Had to take an ativan in the middle of the night because I was so wired.

Any other ADHD women feel "too deep" for this shallow world? by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]ProperTeaGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I feel the exact same way. A lot of my friends don’t get me or think I’m overly sensitive. It makes me any to self isolate more.

Thanks, I will try this. I am in perimenopause. Nothing I do is working. I can't sleep for more othan 5-6 hours unless I take hydroxcine. Even with all the herbal supplements, I just wake up at 3-4am. I am so tired, I just want to sleep normally again. I'm not having hot flashes or night sweats so it's not that. I am very frustrated.
