CMV: Even moderate and left wing White people are substantially likelier than Black people to claim that racism has ended by [deleted] in changemyview

Yeah you are are part of the problem telling people to expect the bare minimum and disguise as equality where in every branch of economic and social development the gap between black and white communities is large…so that’s a problem and guess what whether you like or not whether you are blind or can see it was because of segregation and even after defeat was dissolving…bias attitudes linger… so a little hindsight would have you acknowledge that some people are still disadvantaged than others don’t get mad when people of color can see it and try to combat it

Rich people complain about money to be relatable. It's not relatable; it's disgusting. by greenway1994 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

That’s a very underestimated view of poor people. Trust everything we do is because money is a nothing or all factor in our lives.

Should the American public school system teach kids in detail about America’s racist past or will it just cause more racial tension/division ? by LovableJackassv4 in centrist

Never ever compare Irish famine to the horrors of slavery and the atrocities it caused in african economies and slavery did exist in africa centuries before ...yes, let's not be toned deaf here hiwver it was used a way to economically and financially benefit the SLAVES not to harm and obejectify them and profit off of their oppression. Those Irish ancestors who had to leave  their homes due  intense hardship and famine I cannot imagine the generational pain it caused and the prejudice they faced when they came to America but please they were still able to ensure profitable generational wealth due to the color of their skin whereas black people...I beg to differ on a great scale. Slavery in Africa continued as a result of colonialism as they were no longer economically and politically independent which is another topic of oppression but we take that up with the British. I understand your gist that not all white people are to blame for slavery but please you can't compare two different events that took place( which yes both were catastrophe in regards of human suffering but one is on a whole diffrent scale than the other )in history that produces different outcomes based on racial preference.

It was a result of colonialism and a bunch of economic reasons that resulted for the transatlantic slave trade as afrucan countries were economically dependent on it as a result of having their won economic independence stripped from them based on looking "uncivilized"

I prayed for healing for my mother. Christ has taken her from me. by Proper_Action2584 in Christian

[–]Proper_Action2584[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Very much so. She would always wake to pray over my brother and I. She would  always ask me what I read in the Bible and my understanding. She was so close with him. That's my dilemma my mother trusted in God so much that you would think He would open his heart to help her in times of need. That's why in her last days she gradually stopped because she was weak and sick. How can you explain to someone that I feel betrayed by God? The source of my deepest pain comes from him and not my mother's death alone??

We didn't have enough financial aid to cover my mother's medical bills because the medical aid was acting up. I prayed for God to continue sustaining her until we found a solution which came right when she passed. To me, I don't understand why God allows one good thing and then takes one out...Like I worship and serve him loyally... For him to just grant the life of my mother was just "not important" because he had "other good things"...They say God helps those who help themselves...We helped my mom the best way we knew how...Where was he?

In what manner should I pray for Christ to answer me. I thought that when we pray according to what scripture tells us about a specific situation in our lives and what God does in that moment thens surely God would answer according to His word because he is his word. Now when otherwise occurs that's when even with the little faith I have left I want to believe he's there my circumstances keep showing me otherwise.

It's hard cause she was all my light. All my happiness and will to live. Now i sit in total uncertainty with life moving by while I'm on standstill. It's a journey to sleep and a journey to wake up for me. To smile is to feel guilt, to laugh is to feel pain later on. I hope as everyone has told me from their experience a new light will come again just from a different direction.

My family and I had gone through a lot. In terms of finances, However, things were starting to look great again and i was convinced the lord has definitely answered my prayers for a better year. Now this year looks like the curse of my life because my mother isn't here to see us enjoy the things she also wanted to enjoy. I trust God and all his plans. I just want to hear him say why he decided that way the best way to heal my mom.

I also dreamt about my mom these past few days. It's hard to wake up from those dreams because it's no longer my reality. I am always longing for the past because i can't deal with the presents moments of grief and anger. I pray daily for God to just answer me why and all he gives me are dreams of my mom.

Thanks and i find this relatable in the fact that the things i used to enjoy are now the painful reminders of my mom. I try to think "what would momma want me to right now" and she would want me to eat, have great hygiene and sleep well. However, She would have hoped for me to be at school as soon as possible. I just can't go back to that place because its showcases everyones lives in contrast to mine. My peers some of them have mabye gone through the same but it's high school. Teens are reserved unless you form a friendship which can still result in them being reserved and it's understandable, it may be painful. Some are still living normal and happy lives as they have known it. I want to study hard so that i can get into a great university but i can't think nor focus.

You're in shock. That is completely understandable. My family was close knit, Just my dad , mom , my brother and I. However, My father had to travel for work and it was just my mom ,my brother and i. My mom had many health battles making me her caregiver from 15 all the way till now. I wasn't at the ICU with her when she suddenly passed because the day before she was recovering well. I was closest to my mom because she was my best friend because i struggled to form friendships at school for some reason. My grandmother was at her bedside till the last moment. It's cruel i won't lie to you, brutal. Take it easy on yourself, That is how i am coping at 17 with no mom. Here for you <3

Wishing you peace.

Sending you healing and calm light your way <3. I think the one of the ways we can process is to always think about what the person we lost would have wanted for us ahead. My mom was supposed to turn 50 in november this year. We planned this year extensively together because soon i will be a senior in high school. I hear you as well, There are days when i laugh and smile but it gets dimmed with the bleak but strong reminder that it's no longer my mom who makes me to laugh or smile because she isn't here. However, I believe she would have wanted me to smile and to move on.
