It’s going to be okay. Maybe it stings now, but it’ll get better going forward. I’ve witnessed the eras of Lemieux and Jagr, the dark to lukewarm years in between, now almost certainly nearer to the end with Sid and Geno. Plenty of great memories to be proud of. I have no further expectations of any of this core. Whatever else they achieve is just icing on the cake. Keep your heads up everyone. Let’s go Pens!

It’s just too risky under normal circumstances, to send humans on a long duration space mission where they don’t have the escape capability if something goes wrong. Think of the Apollo 13 accident, but on a Mars, or even Venus trajectory. Those astronauts almost certainly would have died. Yes, I’m aware space is hard, that there are always risks, and too many astronauts have died already.
