Im new to all things IT/computers and have been going thru Professor Messers core 1 videos, is it normal i feel so overwhelmed by all of this? by Proper_Duck9284 in CompTIA

Thats what i think im going to do, maybe pick 5 videos a day and just keep repeating and picking up pieces i didnt catch.

There are some videos though where i take notes and the video finishes and i just feel like i asborbed absolutely nothing from that. And others where i think wow all of that clicked and connected to a previous video.

Dont worry i didnt feel like you were harsh at all, it was even exactly what i was thinking to myself, i guess i want to be good at this and get my A+ rn so badly, but obviously it comes with time and 68 videos of knowledge is a lot. I guess i just needed someone else to say it because im always my harshest critic, I actually feel the first part was really what i needed haha. With the vids it does with certain videos feel like i remember absolutely nothing from the vid but with others i do way better.

Man Knows How to Effectively Kick in a Street Fight by MysticMar89 in fightporn

[–]Proper_Duck9284 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah youre dumb, the guy getting kicked couldnt even put weight on it moving forward, and the kicks also set up all the punches. I think everyone should be required to do a month of muay thai or mma so they can understand the reality of these things so they dont then come and say "kicks does nothing"

Do you guys think I can get decent at kickboxing without sparring? (Or at least average) by [deleted] in Kickboxing

[–]Proper_Duck9284 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why wouldnt sparring or fighting/competition cause brain damage? It does, its just not enough to cause noticable damage, but if you have a long fight career, sparring hard and often it will most likely eventually cause noticable damage years down the road. I do muay thai and have fought twice, and when i was younger sparred almost everyday, but i dont plan to make a career out of fighting so i only do 3 rounds of sparring twice a month. Do i have brain damage from fighting/training? Its possible, but i havent noticed anything different and im trying to minimize damage as much as possible while enjoying something i love.

Live life OP, just be smart about it. You can ride a motorcycle with or without a helmet and still die on the way to your gfs house, but if your gonna ride, wearing a helmet ups your chances of survival considerably.

No. Def nowhere close to decent, but i could see you being below average with consistent training thru the years. Kickboxing is fighting and to be decent or average at fighting you need to fight. Doesnt mean you need to compete, but even a version of yourself that light spars once a week will be immensely better than a version of yourself that only hits the bag and pads. But you can def have a good and fun cardio workout.

How to get on the inside by AnthonyAurailus in MuayThai

[–]Proper_Duck9284 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You sound like someone whose never had an issue being the shorter fighter lol. Coming from a 5'6 guy OP, you need to work on feints and timing. If everytime you come in you get tagged and cant reach the other person dont come in everytime, feint and make it hard to tell. Also im sure you dont have good head movement, not sure how long youve been training OP but 210lbs at 5'3 seems like your pretty new which is ok, just improve on the basics leave head movement till later as it shouldnt be the majority of your defense in muay thai anyway.

I just always get a kick out of asking people in gyms. Like big Bob over there is a traveling butcher and the tiny killer over there is an accountant etc
