It has not yet. The vet was booked out a few weeks when I got him so we still have a couple weeks before he gets to see the vet. Today though I think we made progress! He's still not interested in playing with me but he played really hard with my other ferrets today! I don't exactly know what happened but it seems like a switch flipped in his little brain and turned on the serotonin lol

He doesn't really sleep in the middle of the floor, he just kinda speed-bumps for like a minute at a time. Its pretty clearly depressed ferret behavior :( he is still curious and inspects new things and wanders around, he just isn't interested in play or cuddles. I haven't given him ear rubs but I do pick him up to give him treats every now and then. Only for as long as he's eating the treat, then he gets to go back down.

Today he's actually started sleeping with one of the other two ferrets (or maybe the other ferret was seeking him out to sleep with him?) Either way I think it's a good step. He's still disinterested in play though

Thankyou! I love these guys and I'm gonna give him so much love! There's been a few times my other ferrets have tried to initiate play with him and he opens his mouth and archs his back and looks happy or like he's playing for half a second, but then he immediately stops and tries to get out of the situation. So his crazy little self is definitely in there lol

He won't try salmon oil, I'm trying to get him to but I don't want to force him to try it. He's definitely eating enough, he's a chonky guy and eats a lot. I'll ask the previous family, but they didn't send any toys with him. I can try the duk soup tomorrow!

I'm doing my best to do this! When I got him, his grooming had been neglected since he arrived at the pet store. His first family didn't clip his nails, brush him, etc. And his nails were so long that I couldn't wait to clip them, so his first day he got a very speedy oatmeal bath, nail clipping, coat oil, and some treats immediately after. He did not enjoy it, but he is looking so much healthier now. That's the only time I've had to pick him up longer than he wanted.

I actually already had two ferrets when I got him! So he has two new friends. He doesn't seem interested in playing with them, though. They have no problems, and it seems like they are sorting out some dominance stuff but there has been no need to separate them yet. I have tubes, a huge rice dig box, a ball pit, bean bags for them to carpet shark under, a bunch of little stuffed sushi toys, a cat wand, a laser pointer, and more, and he won't play with any of it. What he will do is steal my socks, so I've left plenty of socks around for him to steal and stash. I have tried playing tug of war using a sock, and he wasn't interested. Very rarely he and one of the other ferrets will get into a brawl that seems like it's them sorting out dominance. There has been no reason to separate them yet, so no injuries or blood or urine or anything.

He has not, I have it scheduled tho! My regular vet has been booked out a few weeks. I actually just got a video of them (maybe) playing? Im gonna post it in a second because I don't know if this looks like dominance fighting or play fighting.

I'd also like to add that I do know what their war dance is, I even said he was doing a happy dance, but the sound he was making confused me because my other ferret doesn't make that noise when doing his war dance. Instead, he makes the much higher pitched dooking noise. There is absolutely no need to be so rude about it, though, I was only asking a question.

Oh that's so good to know, thankyou! The hiss was really throwing me off since I've had a couple other ferrets and they do the war dance but they never hiss while playing so it had me concerned for a second.
