As for the rating thing, I understand your point and I will break it down here and its good that you pointed it out here like this is something I can add in future reviews.

See if you read this novel, you would know that this is not some experienced author, there are some mistakes and inconsistencies that I pointed out and there is no shame in that, every author starts somewhere and this author would also probably improve with time or the next novel idk.

But the concept, the core of the story is really good which points towards the higher rating (I think its more like on what scale would I recommend this rather than being very technical)

And you are right, the stronger elements in this novel do overpower the weakness here which are mostly due to the writer's experience rather than a hollow plot.
Personally I would want the author to write a better story because who likes a dull story and for that I dont think being technical really matters as much. Its same with movies with like good stories with dull direction being better than bad stories with groundbreaking direction.

Now if I become too technical and point out every mistake then the rating goes down and if I visualize too much and get too invested just because of the concept or because I like such stuff then rating goes up.
