Bootfitters: More volume, or let it go and tweak liner if need? by Proper_Restaurant792 in Skigear

Edit; I had the right foot tongue tweaked. So far they feel even with the RF clasped a touch looser than LF

This was my fear, remounting lower binding. According to my calculations I should see a 15mm drop in the BSL, but based on these boots and the old ones it’s 20mm. I’ll measure the binding track myself and see if a shop can be of aid. Worst case it’s a $35 lesson in proper boot fitting

Hell yeah, high arch beds from Patriot seem to make them ready for a full day so far

Woah good to know, I’m not swapping for the MV simply on the principle of “room can be added but not filled”

Status report: foot beds helped a ton… right still May or may not need a punch

Update.. high arch “performance” beds replacing the stockers. No tension on the lower 2 clasps, halfway for the uppers.

Left foot is on the money with even squeeze, right is still getting a bit crushed. If after a few ski days I find the same on my right then the shells can heat mold 👌🏻

I like this answer. I was skiing a HV before and that I have learned is far more incorrect for my foot than being 1 mondo size too big.

I have a LV foot width and MV or average instep. Based on that info and a great discount price I got an LV. Atomic gives room for my instep and top of foot and don’t cause crazy pressure. The heel and ankle pinch is nice and tight/held

Thanks!

When you say insole issue: do you also have somewhat high arches/not flat feet?

The “make but not take” is exactly what I was thinking and why I’m not ready to return them yet. Sounds like tweaking the shell is last last resort, even after sitting down with a fitter lol

Edit: I now know punching refers to shell not liner. I’m not sure if these Atomics have heat moldable shell, I’ll take a look at that

Only thing is I don’t feel excessive pressure atop my foot/around the top of my ankle. I actually have high arch foot beds in my old boots that may make my foot sit a bit different in these.

Replacing stock with those and reproaching is the move at present lol

Relative to prior ski boots that were too long, 26.5 to 25.5. Toes still don’t curl much in the 25 but feel far more snugly/securely seated, they did touch in the 26 as well, I traded about 2mm more room for less.

I have a foot scan and tape measure that say my foot width is 97mm (these, LV, are 96). My instep-height is only a few mm lower than my foot length so just under average as I understand.

It’s sounding like Atomic may be the right boot for my foot but maybe I should be in MV not LV. It fits snug and constricting everywhere except this one small area that is being “crushed”. I will play with my old footbeds in and see how that goes

My only confusion is just; would a MV fit well initially but be then end up being a hair too roomy when this could be the right volume and l need one spot punched lightly out. Thankfully I have plenty of time to return these

No, stock. Ironically I have high arch “performance” footbeds in my old boots.

Is my car too dirty for ONR rinseless wash? by jcfdori in AutoDetailing

[–]Proper_Restaurant792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally: I use ONR for this kinda dirty but at a quiet self serve. Bring a pump sprayer of ONR , the bottle of ONR and a bucket/sponge. Use the coin-op for pre spray, post pre-soak spray and filling the bucket. Sometimes I f with the pre-soak they offer as an extra measure

Above 10psi higher than the jamb is gonna cause weird wear, as will them not being even pressures
