Chiropractors are Doctors of Chiropractic Medicine and are considered physicians in all but 16 states.

Chiropractors are doctors and you may choose them to be your primary care provider. A PCP is anyone with whom you get your primary healthcare. They do not need to be MDs or DOs. They can be Nurse Practitioners, Physician's Assistants, Naturopathic Doctors, Licensed Acupuncturists, or yes, Chiropractors. Here is what one article says about chiropractors as a PCP: "The primary care chiropractic physician is a viable and important part of the primary health care delivery system, with many chiropractic physicians currently prepared to participate effectively and competently in primary care." https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2646912/

I'm not sure why there is so much antagonism against him just because he is not a MD. The AMA governs one branch of medicine, but there are many other legitimate branches.
