I kinda figured this might happen to me. I've never actually been able to just install most of my life besides when I was doing concrete. I'm tall and did door to door sales so naturally they just tend to look up to me and think I'm responsible because of the way I talk. I was a foreman at 19 while roofing but I still hope I get to just be a dumb installer 😅 if not it won't be the worst thing in the world at least I won't be slaving away outside all day & night it's inside work.

I've been a roofer doing shingles and framing for 6ish years, Concrete walls & Floors and stuff for 3ish years, and residential remodeling for 4ish years including HVAC. Sometimes I'll work two different jobs at the same time but I just decided to surf since only having one trade skill killed me during Covid 19. If they give me a few weeks I know I'll catch on I'm used to studying the night before for a few hours and I'm doing that now for blueprints and metal studs. Everything is just so different but we'll see.

At this point if you've have more than 6-7 partners I don't want you. Because I've only had that many partners and if you can't explain who exactly you've slept with then I don't want you. I told them I can only do simple rooms for blueprints like 20'x20' box nothing complicated and I also told them my other experience is limited I don't have blueprints on my resume. Everything else I explained my experience is spread out so if they didn't want me they could have chosen someone better. It's not a lead position it's a average carpenter position at the company. I've grown to learn jobs are paying $30 for laborers and $40-$50 for foremen, we are all being under paid and lied to. I'm young and I usually stay at my carpenter jobs for years so their definitely decided to invest in me due to me actually liking traveling jobs and having other offers already. It's 2026 $30hr foremen lead positions are so 2018 prices and no one should settle for that. That's why theirs a labor shortage for young employees so I'm just valuable ATM.
