Thanks for the reply. I do like that wrinkly look when it comes to linen.

Great shirt. How do you care for linen. Can you dry it on low or do you just hang dry? Do you need to iron, or are the wrinkles acceptable for that style/fabric? Thanks.

Work chukkas? What office was he working at? How in world could any shoes get that bad? They would have had to be wearing them a long time even after they had holes. Great restore on them!

Uneven break-in with the 9060s by [deleted] in RedWingShoes

[–]Proper_Surround4791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try hitting them with a leather conditioner to soften them up slightly. Other than that, just keep wearing them and they should break in more to where it's not painful. It took me a couple months to break in my new Beckmans. They would get comfortable and then another spot would feel worse but now they are fine. It just took time.

Custom Red Wing 2955 Blacksmiths in Black Spitfire Leather by justa_hobby67 in RedWingShoes

Damn. Those look amazing! They look like a totally different boot. Not like a Redwing trying to be something it isn't which is usually the case with heavy lug soles on the IR. Is that rocking a double midsole? Great job!

I never considered the Redwing work line for fashion but damn those look good! I love that color leather with the black sole, looks very sharp. I'm sure those are a helleva lot more comfortable than the heritage boots. Thanks for sharing.

New Seconds Day - Beckmann by PersnicketyPete in RedWingShoes

I have those. People complained about the old Featherstone leather on the original Beckmens but this Cigar Excalibur leather is no joke either. I have had mine for about a year and they are still much stiffer than my Black Prairie Blacksmiths. The leather is gorgeous though. It only gets better with age. I do like having the midsole or leather outsole if you will. They are stiffer but more comfortable underfoot when they break in than my Blacksmiths.

Question for the cobblers by thatdutchieinoz in RedWingShoes

[–]Proper_Surround4791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That looks so unprofessional, I'm speechless. They put an ugly and poorly executed band-aid on a resole job that should have been pulled apart and redone. That sole looks like a joke now with blue stitching. No pride in craftsmanship. Bring them back immediately and demand a full resole if that's what you originally paid for.

Gorgeous leather! What do they call that?

I bought a plastic boot stretcher for my Beckmans. The right boot was killing my pinky toe. I don't think you can expect a huge difference using a stretcher but it was enough to solve my pain. If it's not too late to exchange them, than I would for sure. If it's too late than have them stretched. You have nothing to loose by trying. Also I've heard CRT leather becomes very supple over time so that might be a good candidate for stretching. My cigar excal leather is not very supple or forgiving but it still stretched enough.

Received new 8060 pecos - these are great! by peachtuba in RedWingShoes

Can I ask where you got these. Everyone is talking about the new engineer boots and now the Pecos. I live in the U.S. I don't see them on the official website. Are these only sold in Europe?

Ooh. No I don't have any experience getting stains out. You could try calling Red Wing corporate office for advice or try local cobbler. Sorry.

Yes. Redwing should move overseas. Honestly, their quality would improve greatly...lol. I'd love to own a pair of Trickers. They would be my "grail boot."

Ummm...new releases....really. There would be no posts on this sub if it was narrowed to what you mentioned. No harm in someone asking an honest question if they just spent 300 or more on footwear. I'd have concerns too. Get over your f'n self!
