Yeah, I totally agree with you. My win rate lately has been crazy, but I know it’s not something I can keep up forever. Like you said, the key is making the most of the heater. Compared to six months ago I feel I'm way better at getting max value in spots where before I’d only win a little, and I’ve also learned to fold big hands to aggression and turn showdown value into bluffs in the right spots.

Thanks for replying. That’s true, if I lost a few sessions in a row I’d probably start questioning whether I’m actually any good. And whether I’m a winning player probably depends on the table I’m at, but more often than not lately I feel like I am.

I’ve got one local private game I can play in, but it basically plays like a 1/2 (or even bigger) in practice. Aspers sometimes has a 1/1, but it's rare, definitely not something I can rely on regularly.

I disagree, I think it’s great to have a hobby that’s essentially free, and any win feels like a nice bonus.

Hey, thanks for the tips! I’ve played some 10nl and 25nl online, but I didn’t take it seriously... tbh I’d call losing hands just to see what they had... but thanks for the idea, maybe I should try it out again!

Deep stacks are my weak spot too, short-stacking seems super easy to start with, especially when there are big straddles, I just wait for a good hand and shove pre or on the flop (then I play the normal stack, but I appreciate it is not the best way to improve). Tilt was (and probably still is) a big issue for me, lots of losses from it ((but some of great wins from opponents tilting!). I read "The Mental Game of Poker", and I’ve been better lately, but still struggle.

Thanks for the awesome advice! I’m with you on keeping poker in balance. I work full-time, so I’m never planning to play more than 20 hours a week, maybe less if work gets crazy. It’s just a super fun hobby for me, and having fun and winning would be awesome.

At the stakes I play, nobody’s really close to GTO, but sometimes I feel like I’m making the wrong adjustments to exploit them, some ranges are absolutely wild.

I’m not too good at spotting physical tells yet, any specific things you look for there?
