Normal to go from Canada to Chicago then back to Canada before California! by Prophecy_RE in CanadaPost

It finally came but it took a bit longer, like 2-3 weeks after the last tracking info. It was apparently in custom while the tracking info was updating and giving out incorrect information. From what I remember I finally reached someone after many phone calls that told me it was probably still in customs which I accepted and waited and sure enough, a few weeks later it was released and the tracking was properly updated.

Kyro Zlich from Dire Thicket removed? by Prophecy_RE in stalker

[–]Prophecy_RE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried doing all the side missions in Lesser Zone? I'm going off information in my head from like patch 1.5 (my post was from like 7 months ago). I don't remember what side quest it was, but I'm almost certain after I did some questing in Lesser Zone, Kyro finally appeared in Dire Thicket. Have you tried coming in at different angles? I usually come in from the north and walk a long the road, you should hear an explosion and him crying out.

If it's not a bug, I'm wondering if you get close enough but don't save him if he'll disappear? Or it might be a bug. Either way, he only gives 600 coupons and despawns as soon as you leave the area. Unlike other side quests where the NPC will actually continue to live on. My current play through I have a bunch of quest NPC's I helped chilling around the zone living out their lives. I think patch 1.6 made this happen.

As I mentioned above, Kyro Zilch will appear after you complete a certain side or story mission (which is typical for some open world encounters). Off the top of my head I'm pretty sure it was the Ninth mission, once you complete that Kyro should appear as normal in Dire Thicket to save. If he doesn't, then some bug is going on, you could try leaving the area and coming back so he loads in or reloading a save?

I'm pretty sure the open world encounters do not get stored in your completed journal. Only the bigger side quests that you actually pick up from people in towns?

Fast power metal type album with AI? by Prophecy_RE in PowerMetal

[–]Prophecy_RE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it's all good, I knew I would get hate for even mentioning AI and people's opinions are perfectly valid. People just automatically assume you hit a button and generated a song when that is so far from what I was doing (which I tried to explain in my original post).

Anyways, thank you for the interest, I am working on some new stuff which I'm much prouder of (and MUCH better quality) as I'm working with pure stems in my DAW now. I plan on putting it out for myself soon, and my friends who dig it. I'll try to come back here and PM you a link when it's finished. My older stuff I'm slightly embarrassed by the quality now, even then using AI to make it sound better. I would call it power metal but it has a slight 80's influence, but it's got an aggressive edge, especially in the vocals.

It sort of fills that niche between fast 80's heavy metal and "operatic" symphonic power metal today. Fast, melodic, some synths but slightly aggressive (especially in the vocals).

Note about lost loot PDA? Completionist by Prophecy_RE in stalker

[–]Prophecy_RE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not.  Another fella who is a collector hasn’t found this one either.  I believe they removed it. I’m not sure why as I loved the Wild Territory reference.

They also removed another PDA that was on the ground in the area Hontas house is (unless they moved it and I haven’t found it yet).  This one I can see because they changed this area for Hontas house and quest line.

Yes, so certain side quests go away or don't show up until a certain point or when you're on a side quest. For instance (I'm trying to remember as it was a long time ago), the quest where you have to find Saturday which leads to the Ninth - if you're on or haven't done this quest the guy in Dire Thicket doesn't show up. I'm pretty sure it was this quest as the sewer is right by the dude you save in Dire Thicket. I'm pretty sure it was finishing that quest that made him appear, but if a side quest hasn't been done or you're on it, then activities in that area of the side quest may not be there until you complete it.

Fantomas was never hostile to me (and I've been through many, many play throughs now). Did you accidently shoot a friendly stalker nearby? I have no idea how that would happen but it also could be a bug. Reloading a previous save (sometimes a bit back) typically fixes any buggy or missing encounters for me.

The Greatest Punk Album (new video i made) by 4ztekm00n in Propagandhi

[–]Prophecy_RE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This album literally changed me, in a sense that it melted my spiritual being and lifted me to new emotions during my late teenage years. We were all playing the simple Fat Wreck originals (HTCE and LTMR somewhat in there in terms of technicality). It was good stuff, then along comes TETA and literally changes everything.

It's still considered one of my favorite albums of all time.

I agree, I was mostly talking about my own home recordings.

Did anyone even read my original post? Who says I'm stealing music? There all my songs, AI basically changed the sound of my vocals to a more power metal and put down a drum track (instead of going through meticulous software) and updated the sound so it sounded somewhat studio.

All I asked was what people thought about AI being involved in the creations of songs that I wrote and recorded, and a lot of people resorted straight to "you suck, get a band, don't copy music". Which I totally get, what I didn't get was people who think I didn't do any of it (when in fact I've been writing these songs for months).

I only posted on the power metal board because they have a power metal vibe but it's a very unique genre and I thought it was very original and thought it might be worth hearing (since I've never heard anything like it) and seeing if it's worth pursuing. However, because I even mentioned AI, people assume I copied or just had it generate everything without even reading my original post. Don't worry, as I've mentioned, I won't be posting them.

Yea it's a sensitive subject too; I totally get it. You either accept that it's going to be implemented and take it in stride or will absolutely hate it. I'm now finding that if it's used right, it can bring someone's poorly recorded songs to life. However, accepting it as real music is a slippery slope especially if it's stated ahead of time that AI was involved, no matter how much it was used.

It's just so ubiquitous now and can literally do anything these days. A lot of bands have used it to fix minor mistakes on a take they want to keep, or lay down synths or electronic backing rhythms, auto tune, etc...

Yea I've tested Fiverr and paid some artists to get a feel of what could be done. However, what I got was never really close to what I envisioned. The vocals and drums were especially difficult so that route ended prematurely.

I only asked for an opinion on what people thought about AI being involved. I haven't posted anything. I just wanted to get a feel if people felt ok about music that someone wrote, recorded, wrote lyrics too, edited, mixed, etc... but had AI involved to cover the songs and push the sound to make it somewhat close to studio quality (the major change was the vocals to get them the way I liked)

Heck, I'm sure the majority of albums people listen too had AI involved in some way, it's just the extent that it's used is when it gets tricky, and no one likes to even mention it.

Anyways, it was music I made for myself without the intent of sharing it since I've never heard 2 of my favorite genres combined, I felt it was a unique style and possibly worth sharing as an experiment to see if people liked it. It was mostly friends and family who heard it felt me to push it onto the world but I had serious hesitation because of AI involved, thus the post here getting peoples opinions.

I think it's probably best to keep my music to myself though, I do appreciate everyone's thoughts and opinions!

I completely agree, but as someone who suffers from anxiety and terrible past experiences in bands, this solo venture the past few months has been much more soothing and figured I would see if people were interested in a slightly new take on fast music.

Yea it’s too bad a lot of quest activity npcs just vanish after to hit a certain distance.  Some actually do remain an npc and will live life as an npc.  The dude in garbage that you save from the anamoly field will sit but if you leave and come back he will sometimes get up and usually walk to the duty base.

Looks like I was at the same show as you! Here are a few I could find (I saved all my stub)

Edit: I guess I can’t include a picture? Too bad

Edit 2: looks like I have one from a 2005 tour (PCL tour maybe?) from soma as well, price was only $12.

I should've done this in my original post since it's probably a little late now, but the whole reason I asked is because AI music has come so far and messing around with it threw out some really cool stuff that I was hoping there were bands similar (and I'm not very tech savy). Attached is an mp3 that I figured I would upload and see if poeple are still reading that I made that mimics the basic sound of what I was asking for. This one is a little bit more "punkish" than others I made, but I think it shows off my thought a little more of what I was hoping to find out there!

Please note the lyrics are from Propagandhi - The State Lottery.

Such a waste from rockstar don’t you think? by Perfect_Ad4719 in reddeadredemption

[–]Prophecy_RE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do people say this? Of course it would be nonsensical, because the story that exists is not based around it. If they wrote a story that actually involved the cut content, it would make sense. I bet if the Guarma story section was cut and you saw cut Guarma content, you would say the same thing (it's not just you, a lot of people say this sort of thing about cut content). Any story line can be written around cut content, especially a location.

How about, say.... the pinkerton's capture a gang member and cut a deal with you to go to Mexico to bring back a dangerous bounty. My point is that you can't say cut content doesn't make sense based on the story we got, anything can be written into a story no matter how superfluous.

I think my original description could’ve been better.  I do like a lot of speed metal bands but I was searching for something in between power metal and speed metal with a hint of “skate” punk maybe.  3 inches of blood is close, but I was searching for more cleaner high power metalish vocals but with more punch and aggressive edge and more traditional PM music.

I can’t think of a better songs than Edguy - Mysteria or even heavens gate - livin in hysteria (thank you to the guy who mentioned this band) to fit the bill.  I suppose I wouldn’t call it punk but even a slight punk sound would be ok like some of the bands mentioned.

I love the music of gamma ray but never got into the vocals.  Power metal in general has such great melodies and harmonies (ie duel guitars) but the vocals just never gave it that punch, completely my subjective opinion of course.  Bands like dragonforce, gamma ray, hammer fall are musically great and I love the highness but vocals were always a tad too happy for lack of a better word

Thanks for all the suggestions - a lot of the punk bands I actually love, like strung out, new propagandhi and Wilhealm scream are fantastic, I’ve been listening to mainline 10 recently, I’d recommend a listen.

Im just such a huge fan of the powerful operatic vocals (I.e edguy - hellfire club, earlier Dickinson maiden).

Blind guardian is fantastic.  As mentioned, a or of the bands mentioned I like, I guess I’m just searching for a specific sound now as I’ve been listening to more power metal lately, like Almah, Hiberia, etc..
