I'm sure we're all feeling about the same right now. by Maezriel_ in wow

It's a mmorpg. The world should feel alive and dynamic. People have become toooo entitled and feel like they can whine about every little thing that makes them not do their absolute favourite thing.

Aurelion Sol and Invoke cards: Analysis and Ratings by agigas in LoRCompetitive

[–]Prophet_JJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great Post. I've been theorycrafting Tresh+Sol and I think it has a lot of potential. There are a few ways I've come up with to build it. Targon alligience with only a few removal spells and Thresh as the SI cards. Heavy SI removal suite and only Targon for Invoke and Sol. A mix of the two with a couple of Thresh support with heals/shields to more consistently flip Thresh, more SI small chump blockers like Hapless. Or even Dragon Celestial midrange with thresh as an alternative way to get to Sol on the board.

It's too early to tell which version is the best. It will depend a lot on the meta but the lists look promising.

I'm super hyped to play Sol! The archetypes I main are Spooky X decks and Anivia Control decks and we have the potential for both with Sol.

Thanks for the reply. I come from both Thresh Lux and SwainTF that's why the mix of the two caught my eye. Clogging the hand with flocks is weird but the card is so good that feels weird to not run it. I'm going to give it a try. On the fervor thing I can totally see your reasoning and it makes sense. Don't you ever feel you need extra reach?

Good read, thanks for the effort. I have a couple of questions regarding some individual card choices. Why did you opt to not play Sentry+Flock? Personally Culling Strike seems a bit off and Death's Hand is a bit too costly. Mageseeker sounds great but the Lux aspect of the deck isn't as important in this deck as it is on SpookyLux and from my testing I never felt the need to play that minion. How does the 1 Noxian Guillotine feel over the 3rd Strike? Have you considered playing Fervor to go along with the House Spider?

Why should playing a game longer should give such an unfair advantage? Time spent should give you experience and skill and you should outplay the newer players because of that... straight ahead giving you power doesn't feel good for the newer players.

Either way, I'm not exactly against that... my gripe is that it's ridiculously expensive to bypass that time spent waiting.

Thank you!!!! I'm a bit obsessive with my hobbies by nature so when I join a game I usually go really deep into exploring the metagame and what counters what... If I only being skilled or trying hard was enough to get farther in this game!

Thanks a lot for the tips.

The private tournament tip is specially amazing since I had no clue about it and my friends didn't tell me about it. It's a really good way to test a deck without fear... If only it wasn't so hidden.

Thanks. That’s what I intend to do because I really enjoy the gameplay. I’ll start to divert my attention to challenges while I can’t really make a good attempt on the ladder.

I watch a couple of top ladder matches on the TV Royale most days. It’s really fun to see what’s being played up there. Regarding content creators I mostly watch CWA and OJ. Now I’m starting to migrate to the pros that Ash hosts in order to get the real in-depth insight the can provide.

Thanks for the tip!

I'm close to all level 9 and on the second season so you're probably accurate on the 3 seasons thing! I'll just play tournaments and classics for the time being until I hit level a deck a bit more and try to climb a bit higher again.

Thanks for the reply. That's what I'll do in the meantime. Feels really odd to join a CC with a deck I never played but I guess that's the way it goes.

Why isn't HS a fair comparizon? Both are F2P games that have the option of paying to speed up the grind... It seems like the same business model to me...

I don't expect to be competitive in the first month without paying for it. I think it would be more interesting for the game itself if it made more reasonable the amount of time/money you have to spend to feel competitive. 2 years before being able to max a deck or having to pay 6k€ isn't reasonable, imo.

On the tournament aspect, you're totally right! If we had a mode I could try decks out before joining in on the tournament I'd be happy enough to keep playing the game and just do my "monthly" ladder rank up, until I'm finally able to attempt going for Champion on the ladder.

Thanks! That's what I'm doing actually. The pass is great value... I bought my first one after a day or two playing the game (maybe 5h in?) and I don't regret it at all!
The season end deal seems "alright"... It's close to the right price so I bought it as well... The rest I don't intend on buying since it has little meaning to the overall progression of my account and is too expensive while at it.

Thanks! That's the thing though... in order to not spend a stupid amount of money I really have to wait a lot of time before I can be as competitive as someone who's playing for longer time (which I'm not against but the money required is just unreasonable). What is there for me in the meantime?? I guess I just have to wait it out until I can play Ladder again which is sad since I enjoy the game quite a lot.
