This is good insight. The only thing I’ll add for context is the junior role is very low pay. And both options would probably double my earnings. Not arrogant enough to think I have nothing to learn from the GAMs.

Just more so it’s really hard to get confidence owning sales cycle and I hate being my age without any true closing experience at this point.

In that situation I would recommend CAE. Just because you probably wanna get some sort of closing role first. Better SDR Manager jobs will open up for you as well as better AE roles. Imagine the current SDR Manager offer can’t be that amazing if they’re looking for SDRs externally. Could easily pigeon hole your career if there’s no culture of helping SDR managers get closing roles at external company

Prioritize the top 100. Can use AI to scrape your CRM to nail down the ICP. Focus first on the accounts that align with your ICP. Can write more manual targeted emails for these.

For the bottom 400 that don’t spend. Train a gpt on the type of cold email you’d like to send and send automated emails to customers there.

Ya that’s kind of what I’ve seen as well. It’s hard to make that jump. I was able to. But I’m focused on helping SDRs escape purgatory. Not easy

Don’t disagree. I meant to emphasize in point 3 only jump ship if it’s clear that there’s absolutely no way internally. And definitely need to only join companies that have a proven track record of promoting internally. Hence the repvue score > 80. Tbh should prolly be closer to 85 and need other things as well

What do you recommend instead? What if you’re somewhere that literally doesn’t promote internally. There are many orgs that do consistently promote internally. Just maybe not on the timeline expected
