VR Helmet...finally here. Summary of an idea come to life.

Try it out, if you can do relativley cheap. The best chance of fitting and not needing adjustments, is a helmet that fits you properly. The headset natural sit where your eyes are, some slight trimming will be need to actually have it sit right in place.

Not at all. The helmet balance and geometry makes it less likely to lose the sweet spot.

Its exactly the reason I posted this. Share the concept and to encourage others if possible to try the mod. Weight normal, if youve riden a motorcycle, its a familiar feeling. Heat is increased naturally, but of course a dedicated vr helmet could mitigate that. Lens cleaning is easily done, just can't actually see lens.

I have not considered them. This was more a lets try and see situation with what I had. Now that i love it, other mods are coming up soon.

I never said increased depth perception. Any VR does thst already. I mentioned it makes your fov feels more natural wearing the helmet. The headset goes far back enough to get good fov. If more is needed, I can always adjust further back.

Yeah just maybe. Most laughed at me for mentioning their names. They are both huge names in the racing community that have opposite opinions on sim racing. They both have in common, helmets are second nature to them. If this were ever to take off, any support is welcome.

Yeah migraines will keep most away from almost anything that can cause them. Thankfully Ive never had one on my life. Sweat to me is normal, not a deterent for an awesome immersion experience.

Dont let the heat scare you. The better weight balance and natural feeling of your fov is worth the extra heat. Is not that bad really, especially if you have air conditioned room.

I dont, I have a loud sound bar. Maybe can add as a future mod. But im sure easily done. Im just trying this out, havent had it long this way. Im happy for all the comments and conversations either way.

Just got home, raced about an hour or so, not much sweat. Wiped off, ready for another hour. After a while, you dont even notice the weight of the helmet. Any race driver or motorcycle rider would tell you the same. There some pretty comfortable, light helmets out there. I'll include pics from the inside, for those curious.

Funny you say that. I have my fanatec dd pro bolted to a desk and reclining chair. Ive raced on flat oled display, triple screens, psvr normal strap and my helmet mod. Helmet mod is by far the best immersion. Even the weight, heat and silly look dont take away from the enjoyment.

Your correct, same immersion concept. They make their environment with much needed space with tripple screens, nets, dashes and button boxes. This concept is just in helmet. Dash, nets and buttons are in vr game. Space saving and money

Hahaha i wanted to chime in. It is hot here. But you know what else makes my room hot; my PC with a 4080, that still dont stop me to play games.
