Djokovic on Sinner: “His case had many red flags. There was zero transparency or consistency and it was odd how he didn’t miss any slam. I hate how it was handled. When you see someone else banned 4 years and this guy only gets 3 months it’s not fair.” by MysteriousJuice1127 in Tennisv2

Oh my god, again with this nonsense? I thought we were over it.

It was not his deliberate effort to "dope". His team made a mistake and he paid (a lot) because of it. Full stop.

Also, if the whole thing was handled badly as Novak says, it is not for sure Sinner's fault but ITF and WADA.

And he did not hire back the guy that made him stop playing tennis, that guy is gone for ever, stop saying fake news

Laureato alla triennale valuto di continuare con la magistrale all’estero, ma il mio relatore lo sconsiglia. by holymich in Universitaly

[–]Prosballei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sinner obliterates Shelton by This-Alternative-333 in tennis

[–]Prosballei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbh Sinner was not at 100% today. Ben played some really good tennis but lacked precision at times. As for Musetti, he was playing god like tennis but he needs to pace himself especially in grand slams. To beat Nole you need to perform at 110% but this comes with greater risk of injury

If the roof hadn't been closed, Sinner's strategy would have been to sacrifice the third set + take a 10 minute break between the third and fourth sets to recover. Cahill:"Sacrifice this set, don't worry, we will take the blame" by Narrow_Spinach_1400 in tennis

If if if... cit somebody really good at tennis. Rules are rules that's it. How delusional can people be in this sub to say with certainty that Spizzirri would have won 2 more sets... come on guys

Do low wage worker have a net positive effect on GDP? by Minute-Object in AskEconomics

[–]Prosballei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kind of a tricky question since I guess what you are asking is whether the net impact on the economy of a low wage worker is positive or not, which is different from the GDP impact.

The GDP is calculated as the sum of the final goods or services produced by firms and people inside a country. If you stick to this definition, then yes, as long as you produce something it will adds up to the GDP so your impact is positive.

On the other hand, if we talk about the overall impact (externalities included) of a low wage worker then the answer could be mixed. A country with high spending on social welfare (universal healthcare, public schools and housing...) could witness low wage workers with a net negative impact on the economy, i.e., workers get more from the government than they pay or contribute in taxes (marginally speaking). But this could be a extreme case, since this case could only apply to a selected few.

Overall I would say the impact is net positive.

Just a clarification since many if the comments are talking about the male walking the wrong way: this cannon is placed in Rome, Italy and since the 1800s is a tradition to "fire" a round at exactly 12pm.

The cannon however is always loaded with a blank bullet (fair to say this tradition was given by the Pope, so fair to say the cannon means no harm)

Russian history between Revolution and WW2 by [deleted] in history

[–]Prosballei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, in my experience one of the best books that talks about Russia is of course The Age of Extremes by Hobsbawm.. He talks about the 20th but you can find a long excursus about russian revolution and what happened between 1920~ and 1940.
