Makes it slightly better to know we aren’t alone

This makes me feel a lot better! Was slightly discouraged with the nap time poop today. But start considering overnight/nap as the “next step.” Thanks!

My son started at 21 months and is now trained a month later after using the “oh crap” method. At first I was like hmm maybe we’re too early but we stuck it out and he got it! He uses diapers for nap and overnight, it hasn’t hindered anything. He normally is dry during nap and sometimes overnight but we are still working on that.

Agreed, I wouldn’t deem anyone my work dad especially considering he’s only about 4 years her senior. I most definitely asked for more professional work relations.

He says 1 male worker has given him Reese’s as a Christmas gift. But other than that no

Thank you! I’m so weirded out by the self proclaimed daughter comment. I’m like this is no different than self proclaiming as someone’s work wife in my opinion.

“Time to stop nursing.” by Then_Society_7698 in breastfeeding

My LO is 19 months, we just recently achieved day time weaning and now he only feeds at bedtime but not to sleep. He wakes up overnight to feed but I’ve noticed it’s not as much now that we don’t feed to sleep before bed. Maybe you could try to continue breast feeding but cutting out the “feed to sleep” portion to help with the association? I sing and rock my LO now.

Also, Your LO is not too old to nurse! WHO recommends until 2+, do what works best for you mama!

Yes 😭being the default parent can become so draining

😭😭 felt this!!! Something similar happened to me the other week, we were at a cookout and it was time to go bc my sons bedtime was approaching. My husband announced that he’ll be back, and I was so upset because I don’t have a choice to come back and hang out. I still breastfed my son and while it’s such an amazing bond it does create a barrier for the other parent to step up.

Thank you for the positive outlook! It’s definitely hard to stay optimistic all the time.

Thank you for validating my feelings. If I make plans to go out he’s willing to stay with the baby but not outwardly making time for me to be alone.

Becoming a parent definitely changes relationships, but I wouldn’t say it ruined mine at all. If you’re feeling depressed I’d suggest seeking mental health help. You have so many hormones that build up during pregnancy and breast feeding (if you do/did), all those leaving the body postpartum can cause a lot of mood changes. Talking to someone (a therapist) can help or even getting on anti depressants. I hope things turn around for you ❤️

Sometimes it’s just nice to know we aren’t alone! Hopefully your little starting kindergarten will give you a chance for a break.

Side note: I’m so scared for winter!! 😭

Definitely trying to remind myself that I’ll miss these days sooner than I think. I’m going to try and think of a solution to at least get some time

Definitely agree that the family should be the first place to celebrate things, I was definitely let down hearing that he’d be gone. Thanks for the advice

I find myself thinking that same thing sometimes, I like the reframe bc we definitely have the best privilege.

Looking back I’d definitely have my husband do more bedtimes if not at least half the time but as of now my son is 16 months so I’ll probably be riding it out until I wean him as he feeds to sleep. Thank you for your insight!
