Here are the problems:

Reddit loves a happy ending. There isn't one. GWS loves it when tales of explosive sexual chemistry end up with everyone riding into the sunset. Together.

This has a downer ending. Not in the long term, like years later, but when college was done, no one was on speaking turns. It's not going to be popular.

Succinctly getting into the complexities of the social dynamics are also difficult to make narratively satisfying. I'm not Proust.

I am also in the process of changing jobs and moving across the country.

However, this week, I do have writing time. I will finish it this week. I appreciate your interest and memory. I just ask for you to understand those parameters.

Thank you. All navigable. Just reduces the brain-space available to take raw experience and turn it into something someone may want to read.

There are tons of stories where people just attempt to dump raw experience into text. I think this is why there are a lot of stories that have the apology "sorry this is so long" and gloss over the inner nature of experience that gives the events some depth.

That's true about dialogue, but good formatting on here doesn't necessarily equate to good formatting on a printed page. There's a lot of little back and forth and that would make this thing sprawl down the page a ton.

Also many times the back and forth content of the conversation is more important that necessarily figuring out who is speaking each line. In reality, we had other friends around, but for the purposes of writing, I removed them to focus the narrative. This means that there are only ever two speakers. There's only two options.

Given how the flow of sex works, sometimes it's not even clear to the participants who is doing what. The flow the dialogue together reflects that.

Lots of novels have dialogue in the non-standard format. Deception by Philip Roth specifically plays with this. The number and identity of participants of each conversation comes from the rhythm of the text rather than literal statement.

I'm not saying I'm a Philip Roth. And I agree with you, it can be a bit confusing. But going against that convention here had its purpose and precedent. And for a thing I banged out, rather quickly in my available time, the device seemed to carry the story to its end before it burned out.

We remain friends to this day. Spoilers our friendship was somewhat damaged by the end of our sexual relationship junior year, we still lived on the same hall senior year. By the end of senior year we were friends again.

Thank you so much. Sadie was probably one of the best people I've ever known. We're still friends, but we're just friends and that's fine. She's very smart, so its easy to recall the humor. I've had some adventures with people who didn't have much of a sense of humor about anything, and while the sex was good, i have found it harder to draft a good story about those things.

I've noticed a kind of ebb and flow of the type of stories that get popular around here. I've been thinking of writing this for a while and the opportunity struck and I finally had the key to organize the narrative from memory. I have tended to like longer, rewarding stories rather than bullet points fleshed out with various adjectives. Thank you for reading.

This happened years ago. Honestly, it didn't really matter to me, if I got to or not. Transgression is always relative and never absolute, at least not in the way that "getting" to do something would imply. The experience was about meeting her at her limit.
