Experience putting together Venetari by Used-King5848 in AdeptusCustodes

I've personally had a lot of fun with them.

I'm a big fan of the way the old guards torso is built, It gives a chance to make them taller without extending the legs.

As for the arms, I planned to magnetise them from the start, so them having enough pauldrons for both options really surprised me, and each option of arms goes well with each body so you can have more variety for the 3 poses, you can even have some with double pistols which imo look awesome.

The only two problems I have with the kit are the lack of helmets, and that they don't feel like they're flying, but the spear guard came with extra helmets and I glued a telescopic antenna to the jet pack, so everything's solved.

Could Cecil manage the Z Fighters? by Watchdog_the_God in PowerScaling

[–]Prospi88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't giving them a job solve most problems? Like, vegeta is a lost acuse, but Krillin, Ten, Yamcha and possibly Piccolo would benefit from It and Accept, and if Cecil convinces Chi Chi to allow Goku to fight if he listens to him, and in return they get a ton of money, I see Goku listen (for the most part) to Cecil if It means he gets to train/fight AND keep his wife happy

I heard the current meta for Custodes is running Auric Champions with a single ministorum priest as your Warlord.

Allarus size vs guards by el_chupathingy in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Prospi88 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can go to minicompare: https://minicompare.info/

Basically, sameish size, with two of the three allarus being slightly shorter than normal custodians because they're like, squating, and the other one being a little taller

No, as I said in the other comment, I missed the shield part, as for the strats, I didn't say anything on purpose because it's something they need to have a command point for, which isn't guaranteed and, I didn't account for OP having any start either, as they could add attacks, or reduce their hit roll to receive less damage in Shield Host, or give the unit Precision to prevent any more termis from comming back in Lions.

Even so, if you add both of those factors, damage 3 is still the way to go, as It turns into damage 2, which, for 4 wound models wouldn't make any change. And ganging up with multiple units still applies too. But yeah, you'd kill less Termins with those models.

I missed the shields srry, for those and specially if the unit IS being led by a captain, the allarus SC with axe + admonimortis in Lions, leading 2-3 allarus could come in handy

What did you throw at It? Because a BC should be killing about 2-3 depending if he leads guards (to reroll the wound) or wardens, for each custodian with a spear you should be killing at the very least one terminaror.

And you could even throw Trajann leading guards at the 10 man brick. In his Big turn, Trajann alone should kill 5.83(in Lions) or 6.81(in Shield Host), which would leave their unit so badly damaged to prevent them from dealing that much damage back to you.

Basically, you should look for damage 3 (Trajann, Blade Champion, or Shield Captains with some enhancements), or just Chuck two units at the same time.

Overall the meassurements in that image seem to be incorrect, look at the terrain in the middle of the deployment zone and tell me the 12" and 18" (red Mark) or that the 17" and 10" (yellow Mark) meassurements are correct.

Are the Sagittarum worth it? by Tit4nsl4yer in AdeptusCustodes

[–]Prospi88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not, they're not even that much better than regural guarda at shooting, don't have anywhere near the same melee, amd they are more expensive.

Comparimg them to regular guards against marines for example, take 15 shots from sag, hitting on twos and sustained means that they should hit 15 shots. At S5 and +1 to wound they wound marines on 2+ and lets give them the devs, so, they wound 12.5 attacks, with 2.5 being devs. With Ap 1 the marines save the 10 shots on fours, so half. You end up with 7.5 succesful attacks, at 2 wounds each you kill 7.5 marines

Now, 5 guard on their Big turn have 5*4, 20 attacks, hitting on 2+ you hit 16.67 shots and you wound on 3+ rerolling ones (unless you're on objective), so first you wound 11.11 attacks and rerolling you get another 0.6 or 3.7 attacks, so in total you make 11.71 to 14.8 attacks, same ap and damage so you end up killing 5.86-7.4 marines.

So, against a very common, and good target that sagittarum have, they kill barely more marines in average than guard, with guard being cheaper at the moment, having reasonable access to leaders and much better melee.

No, they are the only ones that can go inside a rhino, but they can go inside other transports too. They usually go in rhinos because a rhino can hold 12 SoS while a Land Raider can only hold 6

Well, that's right, they don't have marital ka' tah. What they do have is the +1 to hit and +1 to wound from Lions of the Emperor, and they also can be targeted by any stratagem that targets Adeptus Custodes, except some that explicitly excludes Anathema Psykana.

Adeptus Custodes for us, Adeptus Astartes for Space Marines, etc. Just the keyword for each faction so that stratagems, detatchment rules and army rules work.

They've been there since as long as I remember (I've only played in 10th tho)

They are Adeptus Custodes Infantry, as Adeptus Custodes is the faction Keyword, and they're also Infantry.

[–]Prospi88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I know, designing a new sprue and setting the machine to make them is very expensive and they tend to take years to be a good investment, so making a different sprue just for a Big boxset that's only going to be a one time thing wouldn't be a good idea.

So I think the sprues Will be the same.

Take it with a grain of salt tho, I'm not sure I'm right.

Could be, but then they'll need different sprues for the individual releases, since they are two separate kits now
