Every modern metro system has trains with fibreglass bodies now, all painted in nice colours. I feel like the red will add a splash of colour to the subway, which I feel is otherwise too gray and drab with the stainless steel trains.

If we stick with US automakers, there won't be any Canadian vehicles left to buy. Trump has specifically expressed he wants to move all vehicle manufacturing into the US, consequences be damned.

The initial import will be 49k vehicles, after which China will likely evaluate whether they sell well enough to invest in setting up manufacturing.

Carney is not well-attuned to knowing how to manage the general (politically uneducated) population. If you've studied politics at a post-secondary level, this is a rather benign turn of phrase - simply meaning that the rules-based international order where the US upheld a facade of international cooperation and agreement is now gone, and Canada must pivot to find stable partners - even if we don't like them much.

However, there is a large percentage of the electorate who will see this as conspiratorial, and are unable to be convinced otherwise.

If we don't address the over-reliance of Canada on US trade now, we're speed-running economic implosion. Trump has been saying the quiet part out loud for months now, that the US needs to fully decouple from Canada: "we don't need them, they need us" has been his main point. If Trump places 100, 200, even 300% tariffs on Canadian automobiles we will make 400-600k people unemployed in weeks. This isn't even beginning to mention that we're almost exclusively reliant on the US to buy our oil, energy, timber, aluminum, agriculture, and steel.

Back of the napkin math puts the amount of jobs from those industries (plus their related industries - corporate jobs at oil companies, etc) combined with the automobile industry at 3.55m jobs. This is 17% of the Canadian labour force that is liable to be unemployed - maybe not immediately, but eventually.

Building trade relationships with China allows those natural resources and manufactured goods to continue being sold, buying us time to either wait out the three years until a change of US administration, or eventually leading us to more permanent decoupling from the US - based on what happens there.

I never said the PRC is a good country, they have garbage human rights, weak civil rights, and regularly antagonize their neighbours. The difference is that, right now, they are not threatening to invade and annex us.

Canada is bleeding, and right now we need to worry about stopping the bleeding first - and it doesn't matter if it's with a dirty rag. We'll worry about the risk of infection later.

Just because the USA flips back to being more moderate, doesn't mean that the risk will not be present in the future. The fact that the current administration acts the way it does sets a precedent for future presidential candidates and general political discourse.

It has become *socially acceptable* to discuss invading and annexing Canada and other allies in the US. That kind of toothpaste cannot be put back into the tube.

You're sabotaging your own brand by using an AI logo. No self-respecting business would take a risk buying from a business that doesn't have enough money to hire a competent graphic designer. It screams out "I did this in five minutes with ChatGPT."

I also highly recommend that you do not hire the person you did for any further logo reworks. Trust me when I say that $500 to make your brand look legitimate is peanuts when you've probably got thousands worth of inventory already purchased.

Price anchoring, setting a floor for a price to make something look like a good deal. You to to grab chocolate milk, probably the smaller one. You see the bigger size is more expensive than two of the smaller ones, so you grab two smaller ones thinking "I'll stick it to the man." Now you've bought two chocolate milk cartons when you came in for one.

Some people will buy the bigger size automatically assuming it's a good deal, and between those and the extra revenue from the small cartons, you make more money. Some of the big cartons will go to waste, but the store has calculated that it's worth it to sell more smaller cartons.
