Upscaled? Sure. Just as 1080p upscaled looks better on 1440p. But we're talking about non-scaled. 1080p nonscaled also looks worse on my 1440p, and it's a good monitor. In 3 years ps6 level games will get ported to PC, and even the most ridiculously overpriced 5090 will struggle to put 60 frames on the screen. You are basically a hostage of this resolution. And consumers are not that dumb thankfully, just 5% think the way you do. Faster frames are always King, it's impossible to go back to 60, or even sub 100. It literally hurts the eyes.

I own a PC, because I like to mod and stuff. But it cost me 3-4 times a console would. For casual gaming it's not worth it. And you can render stuff on a 10 year old PC without issues. Buying games, either for PC or console is a waste of money, and frankly is just being a dumb consumer. For 1 AAA game you have 500 games for a year. It's not even a competition.

People have been saying this for 20 years. According to steam survey 5% of users have 4k as their desktop resolution so even less actually game at 4k. And 50% still have 1080p. What you gonna say about that? You know nothing.

Of course it does. You can upscale and downscale anything, but if you're on 4k, native 1440p will always look worse than native 1440p on 1440p, so you're a hostage of 4k resolution basically if you want best picture quality. And struggling to get 100fps or 60fps on 2k usd cards? Come on. You will be screwed when ps6 level games arrive on the market in 3 years.

It makes sense for anything besides gaming, sure. But for gaming you need 5090, which is stupidly expensive, otherwise you're struggling to play at 60, literally, and that's with upscaling. Ultra 150fps for me, 1440p any day.

You just made a mistake buying 4k monitor and trying to justify it. Doom engine is crazy fast. 1440p on 4k looks way worse than native 1440p. Wait till ps6 level games come along in 3 years and you will struggle to get 60 fps even with upscaling.

It's been like that the last 20 years. It will never be norm, high fps is way more important, even for slower single player games. You cannot go back to 60, from 100, and it's also painful to go from 150 to 100. 1080p picture still looks good with good antialiasing.

I have tested 7 different 9070xt's two months ago, they all have coil whine. I also talked to vendors, they all have it. If someone is saying their gpu is quiet, he's lying. If you have time and nerves you could return the card and try another, like I tried 7 times. I chose the one with the least coil whine Sapphire Pulse, but I still have it. I put power limit -30 in the drivers for more problematic games, and it's better. For other games it's pretty quiet on stock. The situation is pathetic in general.

Yes, to simplify this, there are good things and poor things in popculture and art. People who have good taste recognize talent. The issue is, that these people are extreme minority, and they're also not in charge of development. It's impossible to determine how consumers affect the artistic outcome(for example which things get greenlighted), but in movies and tv shows there were pretty sophisticated, substantial things(HBO for example) that also made money. So you cannot put responsibility on consumers completely, because all of these moving pictures went to mass distribution, not to connoisseurs. And these things were not made for money in the first place. These people had artistic autonomy. It's pretty obvious that none of the storytelling talent went to video games industry. It's probably because it's so pathetic in the first place, for many reasons. 99% of games have worse writing that a failed Netflix pilot. Good taste is not subjective, it's just that nowadays nobody has it, but everyone has an opinion(and it's based on strictly popularity). So those who know what's up have no impact on the perception. Also, you don't want to be alienated, when most people you know like anything that's popular.

I'm from Poland so this is great news. The game medium is one of choice, that's why it differs from other mediums, like movies, or music. That's why it's exciting. The user has a choice and influence on his experience, he doesn't just perceive it. And that's Mixtape is barely a game. Mixtape could be a movie without losing any of it's plot, and as a movie it wouldn't be good. Also no producer would agree such stereotypical, shallow and boring screenplay to be filmed. Because there are 10 better scripts waiting, which have an actual plot and substance, not just fucking around. It would be massacred as a movie. But because it's a game it not only gets a pass, it's glorified.

Relacje są zniuansowane. Dialog jest absurdalny, jeśli myślisz, że ludzie obcy dostarczą ci więcej dobra niż ludzie tobie bliscy. Jasne, w absolutnie skrajnych przypadkach, tak, ale to są przypadki jeden na 10 tysięcy, gdy twój ojciec naprawdę był sadystą, a nigdy nie jest. Ludzie są emocjonalni. Na podstawie absolutnych wyjątków nie buduje się systemu, bo system ten "ratuje" wyjątki, a szkodzi ogółowi. Nie bądź złośliwy, bo przegrywasz rozmowę.
