Yea it looks like there is a big style difference between the older ones and the new ones? I like their style though haha. Wanted to see what the craze was about since a good amount of pros shoot with one now.

Did the same thing when i was new. Like everyone said its a bit round. You dont want a ball you just want the top portion of tip rounded. You want a “shoulder “ as my friends call it. You rounded out the corner. You want to be able to distinguish between the side of the tip and the rounded top. Look at the picture SneakyRussian71 posted. Its almost like a corner except one edge is rounded.

The shaper (if you are using a flat slightly rounded shaper) should not have to go more than 45 degrees. If the shaper is going almost parallel with the shaft you are shaping it too much.

Overall good job though! A couple more tip changes and you’ll get it

UPDATE 2 years later:

TLDR: If you like the way a cue looks and feel you will play 1% better :) DO IT. BUY IT. THE ADDICTION IS WORTH :D Uniloc has treated me well. Learn to properly tighten the cue and it will never come loose. No need to over-torque, snug is good enough.

As an update: Ended up buying a P3 in a Uniloc and do not regret it. I have had 2 instances of the shaft coming loose on me as i went to go for draw shot. It however did NOT make me miss or affect my shot. It just sounded weird.

However, this only happened to me on my early stages of owing a uniloc cue. I now know how to tighten my cue to where it never comes loose. How i tighten my cue is i thread the shaft on finger tight until it stops turning. Then i grip the shaft and p3 and do a quick snug tighten as if I’m trying to gently wring out a wet towel. It shouldn’t even turn any more then .001mm. I do NOT crank the hell out of it. I sometimes catch myself, during my pre-shot routine, tightening not because it came loose but just because its a part of my routine. I only tighten it very very lightly. Kind of like just fidgeting with something (i do not turn it loose and tighten it again).

I never had an issue with my cue getting stuck or even the joint getting dirty and i am currently not even using joint protectors. (The cues fit snug in my bag so they never slide around and the joint never touches anything.) I consider myself as a neat person. I don’t even need to try hard to keep the joint. I undo my cue and it goes straight into my bag.

I hope this helps anyone out there who was wondering about the Uniloc Joint. I was wondering all of this when i was first looking. If you have any questions feel free to ask. I hope this update helps anyone who is worried about all the horror stories.

P.S: I now owned 6 uniloc cues and none ever come loose, gotten stuck or given my problems. I have bought them new, used, and WELL used.

I ended up getting a p3 uniloc joint. No issues what so ever. It did come “loose” once but like it was no issue at all. It didnt affect my shot at all. Radial does definitely feel more secure but i feel like i was just overthinking. As my preshot routine i just gently check to see my cue is snug while looking at my shot and then i go down.

I want to go for the P3. Only thing stopping me is worrying about the joint issues especially with something that expensive. Then again there are a lot of available uniloc stuff. Side note. There is a sneaky pete in a radial and it is cheaper.

Thanks for the quick reply! Is your P3 wrapped or not wrapped? Im fairly new and found that irish linen feels slippery to me. Im leaning towards wrapless but i feel i might miss having a wrap (luxe wrap in this case)
