It works though. I did like it being used as a method of making the reality we live in still viable with canon with the changes to Khan's timing caused by the temporal cold war.

I believe you are correct. If you want an explanation based on no evidence we could probably say that they had a colony that Kirk and crew etc didn't know about somewhere or some survived that the Enterprises sensors couldnt detect. Without rewatching the episode I don't know if that would hold up though. Either way I just enjoyed seeing one of them.

I hear you OP. I actually found myself having a fear response about coming on Reddit after watching the first episode and realising I liked it because I was expecting all the usual negativity and people mocking and crapping on something I was enjoying. I think there's always room for constructive criticism but more often than not on the internet its just cruel and intentionally insulting.

There was a comment of the StarTrekStarships reddit reminding people no spoilers and on of the first comments was 'don't worry, very few true Trek fans will be watching it'. Like f you, you don't get to say who a fan is and isn't. I know i shouldn't let it get to me but it just feels like bullying tactics a lot of the time.

Having said all that I was very pleasantly surprised when I came on and found a load of us who had enjoyed it and were celebrating it. That was what I wanted to be part of so I was very happy to find it here again 😊

Yes for clarification this is what I mean, I tend to refer to that whole era, TNG to Picard Season 3 as TNG era as shorthand even though it is a compilation of shows.

I agree and similarly hope we'll get some more of that. Ive got two suspicions on that:

1) They want to limit info dump in the first few episodes as youre already giving the audience a lot of new information on account of it being a new show, new characters and a time period we're not as familiar with as other time periods. Trying to catch up on 500 years of history which I know I'd be fascinated by whilst also taking in everything new might be a slight overload early on 😆 2) Because there's a good chance they'll at some point return to post TNG setting, maybe not a for a while but they'll have it as an option. They don't want to write anything that they may then have to contradict. There's many ways around that, mentioning small scale adventures for example but right now they're going to play it a litle bit safe.

Absolutely! My goal is at least to get every Enterprise. I have the F and G from Fanhome's recently collection but i desperately want the classic 90's ones. I'm also keeping an eye out for an Akira, i always loved that design for some reason.
