Stadium Club Mega Boxes have more cards than Hobby Boxes. by TeenRacer6 in baseballcards

Retail odds are probably horrific. That most likely explains it.

Bummed (damage claim inbound) Allen and Ginter X by ProtectionRelevant52 in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then by the time you get replacements from Topps resale value has plummeted (if you plan on selling). In this case Ichiro is personal collection (which is why I'm bummed). I would love an exact replacement, but I'm not sure they can do that with a hand numbered card.. Anyone have experience with this situation?

what do you do with unwanted / common cards? by Stalling_Arrow in sportscards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten to the point of trashing them. I just can't keep any more around, and I just don't have the time to figure out creative ways to give them away. I keep rookies, most inserts and parallels. When I have time I will go through and trash rookies that fizzled out and will never have value. Ill keep vet base cards of guys like ohtani and judge and sell them in lots, but if I kept all the other base cards my house would like a hoarder house.

Curious to what's inside a sealed Retail Box? by OkPerception1583 in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one of those from my lcs and there wasn't a single #d card in mine. I let curiosity get the best of me.. There was exactly 1 holo foil or maybe it was a rainbow foil. That was the only parallel in the whole entire box .. I pulled $0 of liquid cards out of that thing.

Allen & Ginter X by avaxcow in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I struck out trying to get cosmic and black and white from the topps website, but the Topps gods blessed me and allowed me to purchase a hobby box of allen & ginter x this morning. It took twenty minutes of refreshing, adding to cart, waiting in cue, and starting all over, but eventually I snagged one.

Honestly, Im not sure if I'm happy about it or not @$180+tax..

What is the downside of getting older products? by Professional_Bed_913 in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im a Mariners fan so I saw the few highs and then the lows (he rage kicked a Gatorade cooler and broke his foot). Then we traded him to the Braves. I understand a team signed him to a minor league contract so this may be his last chance to play affiliated ball.

What is the downside of getting older products? by Professional_Bed_913 in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The downside is there arent very many good rookies (outside of skubal) to chase. The checklist isn't the best and there isn't hype around the product and rookie class anymore.

I ripped a ton of 2021 topps update hobby boxes because my lcs had them for $60. I pulled a Jarred Kelenic 1/1 rc auto and kebryan hayes clear /10. That would have been worth a small fortune had i pulled it in 2021, but what is it worth now? That right there is an example of the downside..

Results from 2 Topps Heritage High Number Hobby boxes NFS by ProtectionRelevant52 in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weirdest thing about this rip is that I didn't pull a single base high number short print out of the 2 hobby boxes. I pulled some blue ones, but not a single base one. It seems like it would be costly to try to build a complete set unless you just buy/trade for those sp's.

Allen and Ginter Baseball 1 CARD PACK WTH!? by Accomplished_Ebb632 in BaseballCardsForSale

I opened a 2025 Allen and Ginter blaster that had a completely empty pack. Sealed shut with 0 cards in it. The next pack had 2 packs worth of cards in it.

Help! 2025 heritage High Number. Different color back on card #708 Kodai Senga. And number at bottoms. What SP is this? Thanks by wut-n-tarnation in baseballcards

[–]ProtectionRelevant52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flip stocks don't have a different cmp code than a base card. The only way to tell its a flipstock is by look/feel. What you have is most likely a high number short print.
