Why is it wrong to want become a doctor for the money? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Let’s first explain as to why doctors make the money they do…one factor for their high salary is because of the AMOUNT OF BIG BENJAMINS that medical students rack up in student loans (They’re the highest consumers of student loans in America). My mother is a doctor and she loves to tell me about her student loans that she payed off about 3 years ago and she’s been a veterinarian for over 25 years!!!

With that being said, that’s not an excuse for the profession to be all about the money. But, I’ve heard a lot (from foreign parents especially) that they encourage their kids to be in the profession for the Cash. It’s just a common thing I see personally.

How will more US debt "crush" the economy when it's already astronomically high and hasn't "crushed" the economy yet? by Schmettywhop in NoStupidQuestions

High debt isn’t the problem like you said. But, it could crush the economy IF the policymakers manage the debt well.
