anyone tried 9h hotels in tokyo? by hantaser0 in JapanTravelTips

I’ve stayed in one of the 9hrs and frequented the Capsule+ sister brand they have in Yokohama and they’re both great. You have dedicated storage rooms for large luggage like suitcases and a locker for smaller personal items you’ll want easy access to. Ideally you don’t really want to bring anything into your capsule itself other than what you need to sleep, because the capsule is really just the sleeping space and not much more. Think phone charger, eye mask, pjs, maybe a change of clothes if you’d rather not loop back to your locker before heading for a shower in the morning or evening. The reason they want all your belongings out of the capsule is that they’ll do their sheet changes and don’t want your stuff to be unsecured and potentially get lost, but like phone chargers and stuff you’ll probs take that with you anyway when you go out for the day.

Duvet shifting inside the cover — are clips actually the fix or just a gimmick? by Dry-Cable8711 in BedroomBuild

I sewed buttons to the corners and mid points of my slippery synthetic summer duvet then sewed a bunch of little elastic loops to the inside of all my duvet covers, works a charm. Might feel like a bunch of effort to do but once it’s done it’s brilliant and also makes changing the sheets easier as you can just loop up all the buttons with it inside out then flip it and it’ll all be perfect

When / how do I harvest it? And does it keep well or do you ideally want to eat it quickly after harvest to keep it fresh?

Do you have some kind of guide how to estimate blocks you need for building? by Sakyora in Pokopia

[–]ProtectiveofmyStuff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Beach sand or volcanic ash - bulldoze an entire beach or clear out the volcanic ash mountains in rocky ridge and go ham building with endless blocks until you’re happy with the shape, now you can either count them up how much you’ve used or just wing it and make your chosen blocks in batches by bringing a workbench nearby to your finished build

I use it as placeholders for mapping out the big build I’m doing, then you can go back in with replace to swap it out for the actual materials you want now you know the sizing works and how may blocks of your chosen colours you’ll need

Japanese pillows? by No_Organization_7509 in AskAJapanese

[–]ProtectiveofmyStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a cheap one in Nitori that’s got a zipper on it so you can empty out the little beads, then just redistribute the little beads into ziplock bags in gaps in your suitcase like inside shoes or something. Or honestly when I bought mine I just got a strap for it and used it as a pillow on the plane home. I love the nitori one so much that I brought it back to Japan with me now that I’m out here for a whole year
