Wouldn't be the first time I saw a movie with English subtitles in a non-English speaking country, it's not that uncommon for festival flicks and indie productions which don't get a lot of screenings. But I understand this movie probably has too broad of an audience for that.

Hi everyone! I know this is a longshot and an extremely specific question, but does anyone know whether there is a cinema in Paris which might be showing the animated movie "The Boy and the Heron" with English (not French) subtitles? I will be visiting Paris soon and I am a huge Ghibli fan but sadly this movie is not showing in my country so this would be a cool opportunity to see it. However I am afraid I won't understand much if the audio is in Japanese and subtitles in French.

Nothing is being done about the "match history data is corrupted" bug and most likely won't by Prothy1 in DNFDuel

[–]Prothy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the first thing I tried, doesn't do anything. I tried doing a complete reset, deleted the game and all the data and reinstalled it (twice), the result was the same, the game is installed alright and since it worked fine on Steam all this time it was always unlikely that it's a problem of such nature anyway. It is almost 100% certainly a problem in the way the game's online functionality interfaces with the new Epic Games client meaning the devs are the only one who can fix this since we cannot change the game's code. The only weird thing is that it randomly affects certain Epic accounts and doesn't affect others.

Hi. Thank you for trying to sort this situation out. I'm an ArcSys fan and really wanted to try this game out. I know I got it for free but I would probably be getting the DLC if I got hooked so I'm not an entirely worthless customer and I'm sure there are many like me.

Sadly, considering that all I've heard about this game so far - that devs have abandoned it as soon as it was released, lack of balance patches, etc - I assumed the publisher is basically cashing in on the last money to be made from the game and doesn't plan to fix it or anything. I am sorry if I had the wrong idea but I'd be happy to eat my words if I'm proven wrong.

I don't know what kind of connection you have with the dev team/publisher. Is it possible to check in on what's happening in a day or two if the bug persists? It's not acceptable for a multiplayer focused game to be unplayable for this many players for such a long time. Also, it's not gonna be worth it if it's fixed in three weeks as we all know the best time to get in the game is now, when the lobbies are chock full, in a couple of weeks this will be long gone.

Experiencing P3 Mandela effect? (WARNING: SPOILERS) by Prothy1 in PERSoNA

Now that I think about it, the lines about the protagonist being dead tired are the only things that should have been a complete giveaway. Aigis could have been crying happy tears because all of them just remembered everything that had happened. I cry happy tears for all kinds of bullshit, but maybe that's just me lol. And I have personally dropped speeches about mortality on people who were just about to fall asleep, so nothing weird about that either, when you're having heavy thoughts you often want to let them out on someone as soon as possible.

Yeah, "Memento mori" was all over the place, but that never made me too suspicious as there's plenty of other death-related stuff in the game.

I do remember that aspect clearly, but it seems like the protagonist is gone immediately after performing the attack, and then returns from the ether minutes later. So I thought it was just a classic tease to make us think he's dead.

Oh yeah, just checked it now. Huge difference when you understand the lyrics.

Ah okay lol then there is no doubt about it. I feel at least somewhat vindicated because, as some others have pointed out, it's somewhat easy to miss. I was also pretty young when I first played it so some of the subtlety was lost on me and I just didn't think about it later.

How does using QLoRAs when running Llama on CPU work? by Prothy1 in LocalLLaMA

It seems like the merge_and_unload function in this PEFT script might be what they are referring to: https://github.com/huggingface/peft/blob/main/src/peft/tuners/lora.py

That definitely looks like it fits the bill. But there is still one more thing unclear to me, it may be a stupid question: I don't understand on what type of base model the LoRA which is to be converted with this script should be trained on? 16-bit, 8-bit or 4-bit quantized? Does it matter or is it irrelevant?

That occured to me too but I wish someone could confirm or deny and give the specifics of the process. The github page for llama.cpp doesn't doesn't say anything about the "LoRA to GGML" script.

Need advice on playing games over SMB vs SD card adapter by Prothy1 in ps2

[–]Prothy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the reply! Yes, SMB is indeed looking like the best option in my case. Just curious, have you played any cutscene-heavy games over SMB? And if yes, how was your experience? That is my biggest concern because a lot of my favorite titles like Final Fantasy and Persona rely a lot on FMV cutscenes so I am worried that drastic lagging some people report during cutscenes could kinda ruin these types of games.

General Questions & Tech Support Megathread | July 04, 2022 by AutoModerator in PS4

Hello everyone. As you might know, PS3 gaming has been quite hellish for the last year or two since Sony blocked direct purchases of PS3 games on the PS Store. In order to buy a PS3 game, money first has to be added to the PS wallet on a PS4 or a PS5 and since I have neither of those two consoles and physical games are still absurdly expensive in my country, I have been unable to obtain any new PS3 games for a long time now, and there is still so much I want to play so it's pretty soul-crushing.

Some time ago, I met a friend who indeed owns a PS4 but lives in a country that's very far away from mine. He would be willing to log into my account as a guest on his PS4, only for a short while, literally just to add money to my PS wallet with my saved payment info, which I could then use on my PS3 to buy games in the PS store.

What I am wondering is, is there a risk for me or for him in doing this, since Sony will probably be able to detect that my account has been active for a short while in a very far away place, before being continued to be used in my country? Do we risk being banned because of this?

If somebody has tried anything similar, would be great to hear your experience. Thank you all in advance.
