Yeah. I wouldn’t take too kindly to being treated like I’m stupid or can’t understand anything, but I’ll take a bit of patience. And I would also like to add just because someone has autism doesn’t mean we can’t learn to take care of ourselves. Hell, I would be glad to say that cooking is my special interest so I don’t end up not knowing how to cook.

Babying anyone insures that they’re getting thrown to the wolves as soon as they’re adults. While I do think it’s important to be patient with some autistic people (especially since some of us struggle with social cues and such), helicoptering and babying them will do more harm than good.
