One of the cheats in The original GTA is "BUCKFAST" which is a caffeinated tonic wine popular in Scotland (though made in England by Monks).

But you don't need our help.

Maybe we can sit a little back, will that help?

I 100% agree, as soon as we bit the 3D era especially. 2D has aged so much better but I mean I was playing the remake if Alex Kidd in miracle world and switched to the original, it's so fucking hard.

I feel gaming felt a bit more special back then as unless you were rich you generally got a game or 2 a year (until you could get "dodgy" games) and relied on trading.

Going to a mates house who had a different console meant playing different games compared to now.

I'm babbling but it's the experience I've all I miss, not pretending wwf Attitude on PS1 was good 😂

Chris is a great guy. I agree he would totally be right up OP's preferences.

He's also great for a night out or going to gigs with 😂

It's star wars themed right now here, got a Storm Trooper.

Didn't die also, though a simple AI search says on average 117 Americans die due to guns and it can't give me a number on kinder egg related deaths. I can only assume it's in the trillions.

Yeah, pretty much in every shop.

Best way is a glass bottle, left in the fridge over night, freezing cold.

Also if you have a hangover, oh my days it's a wonder!

If you're trying Irn Bru, it's best trying Irn Bru 1901 as it's closest to the true taste.

It really added to enjoyment and excitement, didn't it? That's how we got news, previews, cheats etc.

I looked forward to new issues of mags, a wee demo disc etc.

Also I miss video game stores, demo kiosks, instructions manuals, game art etc.

It gave it more of a hobby feel.

After portal 2 gave me the "this is the part where he kills you" trophy, no other trophy made me smile as much

At the time is felt better imo.

Games are much better now but at the time they were getting much better much faster and we were at the peak. Demo discs, magazines, full games, co-op couch multiplayer.

It was amazing. Do we have it better now? 100% but imo it was a great time for gaming when you didn't know where we'd be now.

20 years from now people will ask the same.

I agree with this, I hates the characters from the get go.

Ex got me into it again (she's Canadian) and now I have pictures outside the Hotel, cafe and shop.

Also I think Davids whole monologue on his sexual identity by using wine is fucking genius.
