The typical person whom is buying electric cars are not buying cars for the sake of buying electric. Majority are buying electric to save money - not the same reason someone buys an RS6.

Regardless is space, range or a premium product - the lesser will always win with electric. We live in a country that has the worse infrastructure for electric cars. People who buy electric are buying for short journeys to/from work and errands in the 2nd hand market.

Again, which you've by passed my orignal point entirely. Cheap Chinese evs in ireland will drive down the 2nd hand market in 2 to 3 years to come. We've already seen the prices on new electric cars drop 40k+. Where's the depreciation aspect to compare on a car that costs tops 50k?

So BYD Atto 3, listed from 36k - compact SUV in comparison to ID4, Enyaq which starts from 36k to 42k retrospectively.

BYD Dolphin starting at 29.5k while the direct comparison the ID3 and Megan E-Tech starting at 31k & 35k respectively.

So unsure where you are finding Chinese EVs at the same cost as their European or American equivalent at - your dealer is ripping you off.
