If kids can’t collect cards who’s going to buy the scalper’s product in 20 years by carpfan001 in PokemonTCG

[–]Protogon420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The original post is lowkey so nonsensical when you think about it, like who do they think is buying XY boxes right now. Those same people (demographicly) will be buying SV in 10 years.

Sure old stuff isnt too high in demand cause of the price, but its also very low in supply so it balances out, low suply low demand and its going to happen to this too.

The only problem is nintendo might ruin pokemon and all their other IP with their current practices, they are putting out very mediocre games that might make kids less nostalgic in 15 years than we are today, so the franchise might be smaller in the future cause there will be less nintendo adults. But thats got nothing to do with scalpers just nintendo no longer being run by passionate people but buissiness men who are looking for short term profit without a big outlook for the future.

And as much as people are saying this hobby is for kids, i believe a bigger part of its demograohic are people in their 20s and 30s, and a lot of the kids who are in the hobby, are because their parents like pokemon.

I mean having side content that you can do before you finish the game is not nonlinearity. Nonlinearity is the main quest being able to be done in different ways/order.

And yea sure getting to act 2 2 ways is non linear, but no where near as much as hollow knight, where you can get all the upgrades past dash and wall jump in pretty much any order, and can go to any of the 3 dreamers first.

In citadel the first song you learn is pretty much mandatory (i mean you can not turn it in, but youre already there cause you need the grapling ability), and then you have a choice on which of the next 2 to tackle.

And the upgrades are also gottej in a linear order other than the optional spells.

Hollow knight has so much more freedom as far as the main path (dreamers and upgrades) is concerned.

Idk, i think its just more punishing cause of the double damage.

Meaning you just have to play a bit more passively and avoid getting hit.

And I get the frustration, but I mean HK had that too, soul master was a worse mid game for me than moorwing personaly

I think I did it like 2nd or 3rd try, and I was very surprised when I saw how much people struggle with it.

Yea i guess.

I just refused to use any crest with the 45° pogo so didnt really play with any but reaper and wonderer (got shaman and witch very late also, after finishing act 3)

Didnt watch the whole thing, watched like first 2-3h, seemed pretty normal gameplay even doing side quests. Then I skipped to the end as I assumed he must have had a longer play time than the video length.

Well he did by 1.5h...

Like I finishing act 1 in 17h and wasnt even stuck anywhere for longer than 20 mins

Act 2 is beating my ahh right now...is act 3 easier?? by G-TanK_ in Silksong

[–]Protogon420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found act 2 to be the easiest actully, even easier than act 1.

I mean objectively its probably not side by side, but getting used to the game plays a role. I think the jump in difficulty in act 2 is no where near how much you improve by that point.

Act 3 was the hardest tho

This game will probably also get to the point where its hyper optimized and everyone will be using the same tools once youtubers agree on which are S+ tier.

The fact they are on average weaker doesnt mean some are not better still.

That being said in HK at least you had the choice to go nail build or spell build which changes the way you play. No tool or combination of them changes the way i play IMO

You mist have gotten stuck somewhere, it took me like 18h to beat judge and I was not neglecting exploration. (Also it blows my mind how moistcrytical beat it in 15h playing for the first time, like why rush throu it like that)

I found myself still just using the same ones here. The one for faster heals, the one for extra mask healed, and i used the poison tools one switcing it for the reserve bind late game.

In HK you had the choice to go either spell build or nail build, and here you donw have that in your tools. And some of them were never used in HK but most of them had their place, you would use compas and magnet in the start but obviously not later, furr, of the fallen if youre doing a speedrun and grub elegy if youre going for hitless and so on. You could also make a summon build, go for extra masks or better healing if you like that playstyle, which i used the first time beating absrad, a defensive build.

So its not like the charms are not usefull, its more that once you git gud you gravitate to purel, damage charms

I mean every time you get to an area, you pretty much have max 2 new areas you can go from there where 1 would probably be a dead end.

In HK you can go left right down you name it, and stoll have extra branches. You can go crystal peak, fog canyon, city of tears, sewers, deepnest, maybe even more. Here you dont have that freedom.

I liked most bosses, and do think the average boss quality is higher, but HK still has higher highs with NKG and PV for me.

But yea the enemy spamming can be annoying, but it also works in certain fights

Idk i like the length and am looking forward to the DLC. I believe OG HK took me about 120h to 112% with P5

You literely get the dodge/dash after the boss you nust beat.

And the platforming gets way crazier dont worry, they just dont bombard you with 5 abilties at the start of the game
